In particular, the museum will restore the ship Amiral La Touche De Treville, the ship that took the young man Nguyen Tat Thanh (Van Ba) to find a way to save the country.
According to Mr. Thuan, the project to expand the operating space at the Ho Chi Minh Museum (HCMC branch) is divided into 2 phases.
In phase 1, the work includes landscape renovation, construction of existing spaces, and restoration of the Amiral La Touche De Tréville ship at a scale of 1:1.
In particular, the kitchen where Uncle Ho worked on the ship was restored exactly to the original.
In phase 2, the project continues to expand the area by designing and expanding the exhibition space with artifacts associated with the revolutionary life of President Ho Chi Minh.
Ho Chi Minh Museum (HCMC Branch) is part of the system of Museums and Monuments of President Ho Chi Minh throughout the country. The museum is located in an ancient house (formerly the headquarters of the Messageries Maritimes shipping company in Saigon) on Nha Rong Wharf, where Uncle Ho left to find a way to save the country in the past.
This is also a place to research, collect, inventory, preserve, display and promote the life and great revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh.
In particular, the museum still has many artifacts and documents related to the event of Uncle Ho's departure to find a way to save the country, the deep feelings of President Ho Chi Minh for the people of the South and the love of the people of the South for Uncle Ho.
The ship Amiral La Touche De Tréville (Also known as the Admiral Latouche-Tréville) was built in 1903 and launched in 1904 in Nantes (France). The ship belonged to the Chargeurs Réunis Shipping Company (France) and operated worldwide.
On June 5, 1911, the ship Amiral La Touche De Tréville left Vietnam, taking the young man around the world to find a way to save the country.
