The exhibition "Ho Chi Minh's Footprints in China" is being held by the Ho Chi Minh Museum in collaboration with the Central Party Office Archives Department at the Ho Chi Minh Museum from now until the end of April 2025. There are also many valuable documents and artifacts telling the story of the precious affection that Chinese comrades and people have for President Ho Chi Minh. The exhibition is held to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Nguyen Ai Quoc - Ho Chi Minh's first arrival in China on his journey to find a way to save the country (1924 - 2024); towards the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - China diplomatic relations (1950 - 2025).

The house where Uncle Ho rested

With more than 200 documents and artifacts, the exhibition "Ho Chi Minh's Footprints" in China   introducing to the public the imprints of President Ho Chi Minh that remain in China. According to the organizers, during his revolutionary career, China was a place where he visited many times, lived there for many periods of time, made many Chinese friends and left behind deep feelings.

The artifacts that President Ho Chi Minh used when he stayed at Mr. Nong Ky Chan's family attract visitors to the exhibition.

Many places in China still bear the footprints of President Ho Chi Minh, which have the power to touch people's hearts and become vivid symbols of the Vietnam - China friendship. In the exhibition, viewers were moved to see again artifacts such as pendulum clocks, bronze basins, and a set of three porcelain rice bowls that Uncle Ho used when he stayed at the home of Mr. Nong Ky Chan, Na Trao village, Ha Dong commune, Long Chau district, Guangxi province, China in August 1944. In early August 1944, after being released from Chiang Kai-shek's prison, Uncle Ho and his group of cadres were looking for ways and routes to return to Vietnam. During that time, he stayed at Mr. Nong Ky Chan's house and lived with his family. Before leaving, Uncle Ho gave Mr. Nong Ky Chan a woolen scarf to keep as a souvenir, and he also sent some books to Mr. Nong Ky Chan to keep for him. With the help of Mr. Nong Ky Chan and his people, President Ho Chi Minh's group of cadres left Ha Dong through Thuy Khau border gate to return to Vietnam. Around September 1944, Uncle Ho returned to Pac Bo base, preparing for the General Uprising to seize power throughout the country. After Vietnam's independence, Uncle Ho traveled back and forth to Long Chau many times and he always remembered the days when he received protection and sincere help from many Choang ethnic people such as the families of Mr. Phan Toan Tran and Nong Ky Chan. In 1960, Mr. Nong Ky Chan was invited by Uncle Ho to visit Vietnam and was warmly welcomed by him. The collection of artifacts was collected by Long Chau District Museum and donated to Ho Chi Minh Museum on June 26, 2007.

The Xiang Fei fan given by Marshal Ye Jianying

Marshal Ye Jianying, from the 1930s, had been active in the Chinese revolutionary movement with Nguyen Ai Quoc. Later, when Nguyen Ai Quoc became President of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, Ye Jianying was promoted to the rank of Marshal, and that relationship continued to be strengthened and developed. On December 15, 1961, on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army , Marshal Ye Jianying led a military delegation from the People's Republic of China to pay a friendly visit to Vietnam.

President Ho Chi Minh gave Marshal Diep Kiem Anh and his delegation special attention and a warm welcome. During this meeting, Marshal Diep Kiem Anh presented President Ho Chi Minh with meaningful and valuable gifts, including a Xiang Fei paper fan. The paper fan was made of bamboo and paper, the fan ribs were made of Xiang Fei bamboo, a precious bamboo species in Hunan, China, so it was called Xiang Fei fan. On one side of the fan was a dedication and a poem written by Marshal Diep Kiem Anh to President Ho Chi Minh in Chinese. The seven-line poem expressed Marshal Diep Kiem Anh's admiration for the indomitable fighting spirit and victories of the Vietnamese people. The fan was used by President Ho Chi Minh and kept on a bookshelf in his office.

In the set of gifts that Marshal Ye Jianying and the Chinese military delegation presented to President Ho Chi Minh in 1961, there was also a very precious gift, which was a scroll with the poem "Than Vien Xuan - Tuyet" by President Mao Zedong. President Mao Zedong also presented a woven painting of the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on the occasion of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday on May 19, 1967. Chinese friends also presented President Ho Chi Minh with a set of exercise equipment when he went to their country for medical treatment.

The exhibition introduces a very valuable and meaningful gift that the Guangzhou Military Region presented to President Ho Chi Minh on the occasion of his 77th birthday in 1967: A statue of the South Vietnam Liberation Army soldiers made of light green jade. The work is a voice of sharing, support, and encouragement for the Vietnam People's Army to fight and defeat the American imperialists and unify the country.
