On the morning of September 10, a flash flood and landslide occurred in Lang Nu village, Phuc Khanh commune, Bao Yen district, Lao Cai. This is a remote village, isolated by heavy rain and floods. By the morning of September 11, Lao Cai province's rescue force determined that 18 people had died in the flash flood and landslide, burying the entire Lang Nu village. Sharing with Vietnamnet , a representative of Viettel Telecom said that on the afternoon of September 10, after receiving orders to use all means to broadcast mobile signals at the landslide site at night, ensuring coverage of the entire landslide area, serving the direction, operation, rescue and relief work, Viettel in Lao Cai urgently organized forces to move to the landslide site. Due to the rugged and fragmented terrain, it was extremely difficult to travel 18km of road in heavy rain and landslides, so it was not until the evening of the same day that 4 technical staff of Viettel in Bao Yen district - Lao Cai were able to approach and determine the location of the new broadcasting station. Immediately, the branch added 5 more staff members who traveled by motorbike and walked 3.5km, carrying a large amount of equipment and tools to the landslide site to start installing a new mobile station to serve emergency broadcasting. This is the first new technology 4G broadcasting station deployed by Viettel to respond to emergencies for rescue work. The special advantage of this broadcasting station is that it uses a frequency that can transmit further and penetrate terrain better than conventional 4G broadcasting stations in Vietnam today. Viettel Telecom representative said that in heavy rain and limited light from flashlights, the working group urgently deployed the installation of the station and at 2:17 a.m. on September 11, station LCI0156-11 successfully broadcast, ensuring smooth communication, serving rescue work at the most serious landslide site in Lao Cai province.Vietnamnet.vn
