On April 11, Mr. Le Quoc Anh, Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee, said that the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of the province, in coordination with Phu Quoc City People's Committee, had just forcibly removed more than 45,000 square meters of land from households that had encroached on national forest land and projects in the area.
Specifically, on April 11, the People's Committee of Kien Giang province enforced the seizure of two cases, Phan Van Den and Phung Thanh Minh, with a total land area of 13,433m2 in Quarter 6, An Thoi Ward, Phu Quoc City. Of which, Mr. Phan Van Den occupied 8,200m2 , Mr. Phung Thanh Minh 5,233m2 . Both of these land areas are national forest land, on which 8 houses and 5 bungalows were built.
According to the leader of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Kien Giang province, after encroaching on the land area encroached by Mr. Den and Mr. Minh, the enforcement team will hand it over to Phu Quoc National Park for management.
Previously, on April 9, the People's Committee of Kien Giang province organized enforcement and forced to remedy the consequences of administrative violations in the field of land against Ms. Lam Thi Ngoc Cam and Ms. Lam Thi Ngoc Hoi for occupying more than 32,000m2 of project land and forest land in Group 7, Ganh Dau Hamlet, Ganh Dau Commune, on which 32 prefabricated houses were built.
