Mountain women learn cooperative model in Thang Binh

The training course under Project 8 “Implementing gender equality and solving urgent issues for women and children” was organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women’s Union in coordination with the Quang Nam Provincial Women’s Union from June 4-6 for 41 trainees from mountainous districts of the province. In addition to the theoretical part, the trainees had a field trip to Loc Nhien Phat Production and Business Cooperative.

The above cooperative, whose Director is Ms. Ngo Thi Loc, was established in 2023. It currently produces and trades 9 key products; including 1 black garlic basil syrup product that meets 3-star OCOP standards, 3 typical rural products at the district level and 1 startup product.

The average monthly revenue of the cooperative is more than 500 million VND, creating on-site and seasonal jobs for 15 workers. In addition, to ensure the source of raw materials for producing lemon basil and black garlic syrup, the cooperative has cooperated with 5 households and 1 cooperative in Dai Loc district to plant 2 hectares of lemon basil.

During the visit, students discussed the process of starting a business, establishing cooperatives, and key products. Many students wanted to connect with Loc Nhien Phat Production and Trading Cooperative to provide raw materials to help people in mountainous areas develop their economy .
