On the morning of December 28, the Provincial Cooperative Union held a conference to review activities in 2023 and deploy tasks in 2024. Comrade Nguyen Van De - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Collective Economic Development attended and delivered a speech at the conference.
520 cooperatives operate effectively
The report of the Provincial Cooperative Union shows that in 2023, 38 more cooperatives will be developed, bringing the total number of cooperatives in the province to 895. Of these, 520 cooperatives operate effectively (accounting for 58.1%). The average revenue in 2023 of a cooperative will reach VND 2 billion 295 million/year; Average labor income will reach VND 58 million/year.
In particular, currently in the province, there are 225 cooperatives linked to the consumption of agricultural products, 30 cooperatives applying high technology in production. Up to now, there have been 79 cooperatives with 170/430 products of the whole province achieving OCOP of 3 stars or more.
In 2024, the Provincial Cooperative Union will provide consultancy, support, guidance to consolidate, develop, and improve the quality of cooperative operations; build production and business linkage models according to the value chain and carry out digital transformation. The conference had 8 presentations, sharing experiences for cooperatives to operate effectively, at the same time expressing difficulties, challenges and proposing some recommendations to all levels and sectors with the desire to create more favorable conditions for collective economy and cooperatives in their activities.
Developing collective economy and cooperatives is an inevitable trend.
Speaking at the conference, comrade Nguyen Van De - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee commended the achievements of the cooperative economy, cooperatives and activities of the Provincial Cooperative Union in 2023.
However, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also pointed out some shortcomings: The development of the collective economic sector and cooperatives has not been commensurate with its potential and advantages; the growth rate is still low compared to other economic sectors, development is uneven between regions, between agricultural and non-agricultural sectors; State management of the collective economic sector and cooperatives still has many shortcomings. Some Party committees and authorities have not really paid attention to the activities of cooperatives...
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that the sectors, according to their functions and tasks, pay attention to a number of key tasks: Continue to innovate propaganda and education work, thoroughly and deeply grasp the viewpoints, guidelines, resolutions of the Party, policies and laws of the State on collective and cooperative economic development to cadres, party members and people. Clearly identify the development of collective and cooperative economy as an inevitable trend, considering this an important and regular political task of departments, sectors, agencies and localities.
The Provincial Cooperative Union continues to improve the effectiveness of coordination with departments, branches and localities in developing cooperative economy and cooperatives; coordinate in building and advising the Provincial People's Committee to issue projects, programs and plans related to collective economic activities and cooperatives.
Strengthen training and capacity building for cooperative staff. Organize well consulting activities, support the development of cooperative models linking production and business according to the value chain; strengthen support for trade promotion activities, connecting supply and demand; promote consulting, guidance, and support for digital transformation in the cooperative system.
For cooperatives, they must strive to improve themselves, promote the position and role of the management board, especially the role of the head of the cooperative. Ensure the harmony of diverse interests of members; innovate, create and invest in technology in production, find output markets for products...
Prioritize the development of new-style cooperatives in the agricultural sector, rural areas, and associated with new rural construction.
On this occasion, the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance awarded the Emulation Flag to 1 collective; awarded Certificates of Merit to 13 collectives and 6 individuals. The Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 5 collectives and 3 individuals with achievements in organizing and implementing the project to continue to innovate and develop cooperatives in 2023./.
