BTO-On the morning of May 17, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Van Dang received Ms. Annie Dubé - Consul General of Canada in Ho Chi Minh City, and members of the working delegation for a courtesy visit. At the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Van Dang introduced to Ms. Annie Dubé and the delegation the natural characteristics and outstanding socio-economic situation of Binh Thuan province. At the same time, he affirmed the cooperative relationship between Binh Thuan province and Canada in the fields of economy, tourism and education in recent times. In particular, promoting exports to the Canadian market in the fields of seafood, vegetables, wood products and footwear. Especially with the support and linkage in education training through the Vietnam Vocational Skills Project (VSEP), from 2016 to 2020, a high-quality tourism workforce has been trained, creating connections between experts and tourism establishments in the province. As well as building training programs in the direction of approaching the capacity of local learners, improving the teaching quality of the education sector of Binh Thuan province, improving English communication skills to meet the needs of tourism businesses.
In the field of minerals, Hung Thinh Company Limited has been cooperating with Saskatchewan Province (Canada) in mining and processing minerals/rare earths. Binh Thuan hopes that this cooperation will always be sustainable and increasingly developed to contribute to the development of the province.
Affirming the strong relationship between Vietnam and Canada over the past 50 years, the Standing Vice Chairman of Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee hopes that Consul General Annie Dubé will promote cultural exchanges, introduce regional products, and connect points between the two countries. At the same time, he hopes that Ms. Annie Dubé will pay attention to calling on Canadian businesses to learn about and invest in Binh Thuan province, especially in the field of mineral processing technology, especially deep processing of titanium. On the province's side, it is ready to create all conditions for Canadian businesses to learn about and invest in projects that the province is calling for, thereby promoting bilateral cooperation in many fields.
Ms. Annie Dubé thanked the leaders of Binh Thuan province for their warm and respectful welcome to the delegation. Ms. Annie Dubé also shared about some activities that the Canadian Government is implementing in Vietnam, and expressed her impression of what Vietnam has done and the areas where Vietnam and Canada can cooperate. In recent times, the people-to-people diplomatic relationship between the two countries has been very close. At the same time, she pledged to actively work and connect with investors from both sides to promote cooperation in the areas that the province is encouraging in the coming time.
