The Vice President and the Princess agreed to continue to pay attention to and support multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand, aiming to upgrade the bilateral relationship to a new height.

On August 13, at the Presidential Palace, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan received Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand and the Royal Thai Delegation on the occasion of their visit and work in Vietnam.
At the meeting, the Vice President, on behalf of the State and people of Vietnam, thanked Thailand for flying the flag at half-mast for two days (August 1-2, 2024) to commemorate the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong; emphasizing that this is a gesture demonstrating the close relationship and friendship between Vietnam and Thailand.
Recalling his visit to Thailand in June 2022, the Vice President was impressed by the development of the Kingdom of Thailand as well as the great achievements that the Thai people have achieved; believing that with the spiritual support of the Royal Family, the Thai people will unite to overcome all difficulties, continue to gain even greater achievements in building a prosperous country, playing an active role in the region and the world.
The Vice President expressed his appreciation for the good feelings that the Princess has for the country and people of Vietnam, expressed through the Princess's six visits as well as the song. "Peaceful Vietnam" composed by the Princess and personally performed at Chulalongkorn University in March 2024; affirming that this is one of the symbols of the close friendship between the two peoples.
The Vice President highly appreciated the results achieved in the implementation of the Project “Improving the quality of life of children and youth in the Asia-Pacific region” sponsored by the Princess in a number of schools in Vietnam since 2006, thereby contributing significantly to improving the overall quality of students in disadvantaged areas in Vietnam.
The Vice President thanked the Thai Princess for establishing the Princess Maha Chakri Award to honor individuals who have made positive contributions to the cause of education development, of which five Vietnamese teachers have received the Award since 2015; affirmed that the Princess's Award has great influence, creating an important motivation to encourage teachers to continue to contribute to the cause of education development, bringing practical benefits to the education of Southeast Asian countries.

Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn thanked Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan for the warm and thoughtful reception for the delegation; shared that she always has special feelings for Vietnam; said that the Thai Royal Family is very interested in implementing community support projects in Vietnam; affirmed that she will continue to pay attention, develop and expand the project "Improving the quality of life for children and youth in the Asia-Pacific region" in Vietnam; contributing to the development of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Pleased with the strong development of the Vietnam-Thailand Strategic Partnership in recent times, the Vice President and the Princess agreed to continue to pay attention to and support multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries, including strengthening people-to-people exchanges, promoting the role of the Vietnamese community in Thailand, supporting the work of preserving and promoting the value of Vietnamese culture in Thailand, aiming to upgrade the relationship between the two countries to a new level.
On this occasion, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan conveyed the regards of General Secretary and President To Lam to the King and Queen Mother of Thailand./.
