On the morning of March 8, the Central Steering Committee for National Target Programs (NTPs) for the 2021-2025 period held its 5th online meeting with localities on the implementation of NTPs in 2023 and the first two months of 2024; key tasks and solutions in the coming time. Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang, Head of the Steering Committee, chaired the meeting.
Attending the meeting at Vinh Phuc bridge point were comrade Nguyen Van Khuoc, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. Also attending were comrade Tran Thanh Hai, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development; leaders of departments, branches and localities.

Up to now, about 78% of communes nationwide have met new rural standards (NTM), with an average of 17.1 criteria/commune nationwide; 280 district-level units in 58 provinces and centrally-run cities have been recognized by the Prime Minister as having completed their tasks/met NTM standards. The poverty rate according to multidimensional poverty standards in 2023 will be 2.93%, down 1.1%, meeting the target assigned by the National Assembly and the Government.
At the meeting, delegates assessed the implementation results, raised difficulties and obstacles, and proposed and recommended solutions to promote the implementation of the National Target Programs in the coming time, including continuing to pay attention to supporting resources for new rural construction and poverty reduction in mountainous provinces...
Concluding the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang commended and highly appreciated the achievements of ministries, branches and localities in implementing the National Target Programs in recent times; at the same time, he pointed out the limitations of some localities that have not really started implementing them.
Regarding the 2024 tasks, the Deputy Prime Minister requested ministries, branches and localities to review and revise documents that are not suitable to local realities; promote the role of Party committees and authorities at all levels in directing, operating, inspecting, urging and propagating to speed up implementation progress; proactively grasp and handle difficulties and problems of localities according to their authority, deploy drastic measures to promote disbursement of central and local capital sources; integrate the implementation of 3 National Target Programs for more effective implementation.
