Having just experienced the Dinh Lap tea hills, Mr. Nguyen Van Thinh, a tourist from Hanoi, excitedly said: “I was very surprised by the beautiful and majestic tea hills in Dinh Lap. In particular, I also got to visit the factory to see the tea drying and roasting processes and directly taste the delicious teas… Therefore, during the experience, I bought some OCOP tea products of the district as gifts.”

It is known that the development of agricultural tourism products to visit tea hills associated with the promotion and consumption of OCOP products has been carried out by Dinh Lap district since 2022. Since its inception, the tea hills have attracted over 5,000 visitors. As one of the units participating in building the tea hill tourism model, Mr. Tran Van Hung, Deputy Director of Thai Binh - Lang Son Tea Joint Stock Company said: I find that the tea hill tourism experience product is a very good way to create momentum for local development, as well as an effective channel to promote and introduce OCOP products. Therefore, in addition to building experiential activities, the company also focuses on introducing, promoting and selling OCOP tea products produced by the company.

Not only Dinh Lap district, in recent years, many localities in the province have built agricultural tourism models associated with promoting the value of OCOP products. Typical examples include the Hang Hu tangerine garden tourist site in Chien Thang commune, Bac Son; the chestnut, tangerine, grape, and strawberry garden model (Lang Son city), the custard apple garden experience model (Chi Lang) ... attracting tens of thousands of visitors to visit and buy products in the garden each season.

At the same time, the promotion and advertising of OCOP products at cultural, tourism and festival events inside and outside the province has received attention from all levels and sectors such as: promotion at the Ho Chi Minh City International Tourism Fair; the Tourism program through the Viet Bac heritage sites; the Bang Tuong Border Tourism Fair; the Peach Blossom Festival, the Cultural Festival of Ethnic Groups in Lang Son City, the Bac Son Golden Season Festival, the Dong Lam Grassland Festival... Each festival attracts from 15,000 to 30,000 visitors, contributing significantly to helping families and businesses promote and consume OCOP products.

Ms. Dang Thi Mui, a member of Mau Son Ecological Farm Cooperative, said: Through fairs and festivals, the cooperative's OCOP products have been more widely promoted. In particular, during the 11th Northeast Ethnic Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival (VHTT&DL) (November 2024), I sold about 600 boxes of wild lemon apricots and more than 100 bottles of Mau Son leaf-fermented wine. Many customers, after enjoying our products, came back to buy and recommend them to their relatives and friends.

It can be seen that the attractiveness of OCOP agricultural products has contributed to attracting tourists to Lang Son. In 2024, the total number of visitors to Lang Son is estimated to reach over 4.2 million (an increase of more than 8% compared to 2023), with estimated revenue of VND 4,350 billion. Mr. Luu Ba Mac, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: In recent years, the department has coordinated with relevant agencies and units to implement many solutions in developing agricultural and rural tourism in the province. In particular, the department not only focuses on organizing training and propaganda for localities with strengths in developing agricultural tourism but also surveys and builds agricultural tourism products associated with promoting the value of OCOP products; bringing provincial-level OCOP products to display at cultural and tourism events...

According to the Project "One Commune One Product Program of Lang Son Province for the period 2019 - 2020, with a vision to 2030" approved by the Provincial People's Committee on August 13, 2019, the province currently has 106 OCOP products, of which 6 products meet 4-star standards and 100 products meet 3-star standards.

It is known that from 2021 to present, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has printed more than 1,000 documents on policies, mechanisms, tasks, and solutions for tourism development and distributed them to commune and district officials, agricultural cooperatives, and households doing tourism... Organized more than 10 training courses with thousands of trainees who are people doing rural tourism in the province; encouraged organizations and individuals to introduce OCOP booth clusters at tourist attractions; events inside and outside the province.

In addition, in recent times, the Provincial Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion has built a number of tourism routes associated with agriculture such as: eco-tourism routes at some tangerine growing locations (Bac Son); community tourism routes in Huu Lien and Yen Thinh communes (Huu Lung)... In parallel, in all booths participating in domestic and international tourism cooperation, promotion and advertising events, the center has dedicated booths to display agricultural products that meet OCOP standards of Lang Son...

Through this, it can be seen that promoting, introducing and consuming OCOP products associated with tourism activities has been and is being effective in Lang Son province. From there, it not only helps tourists visit the land but also knows and enjoys many agricultural products that meet Lang Son's standards, contributing to attracting tourists and promoting socio-economic development in the area.
