Vinh Dien Pharmaceutical Production Company Limited (located in Dan Phuong district, Hanoi) produces a series of functional foods that enhance physiology and support weight loss.
Specifically, the Food Safety Department stated that this company violated 6 acts including: producing some types of functional foods without a certificate of qualified food safety facilities meeting good manufacturing practices; not registering the product declaration as prescribed; not having a certificate of qualified food safety facilities; not ensuring specialized equipment in production; violating regulations on mandatory content on product labels and using banned substances (Sildenafil, Sibutramine) in food production and processing.
Products containing prohibited substances include: health protection food Bo Hoan Duong Plus (batch number: 02.2022, manufacturing date: 11-5-2022, expiry date: 10-5-2025); Stony product for kidney tonic and sexual enhancement (batch number: 03.2022, manufacturing date: 12-5-2022, expiry date: 11-5-2025); health protection food Apple Cider Vinegar Slim to support weight loss (batch number: 01.2022, manufacturing date: 26-2-2022, expiry date: 25-2-2025).
The total fine for the 6 violations committed by this company is more than 11 billion VND.
The Food Safety Department also decided to suspend the production of health protection foods for 11 months from March 1 for Vinh Dien Pharmaceutical and Medical Production Company Limited, and revoke the right to use the certificate of registration of the health protection food product declaration Bo Hoan Duong Plus for 22 months.
The company was also forced to recall and destroy the infringing products.
