Over the past 5 years, the Trade Union of Can Tho College of Economics and Technology (CTEC) has made many positive contributions to the management of the unit, taking good care of the lives of civil servants and employees. Thereby, the Trade Union has contributed to the successful implementation of the school's political tasks and professional work.

CTEC's Trade Union currently has 12 affiliated trade union groups, with 150 union members, including 9 PhDs, 30 postgraduates, 83 masters and 20 graduate students. In the 2017-2022 term, the Trade Union coordinated well with the government to arrange reasonable labor, promote democracy at the grassroots level, ensure the organization and operation regulations of the school and the People's Inspection Committee. The Trade Union actively takes care of the lives of union members and employees. 100% of the Trade Union members contributed over 330 million VND to raise funds to support mutual love and support activities; support the Golden Heart Fund, the Fund for the Poor... Every year, the Trade Union members also join hands to support 50 gifts (from 200,000 VND to 250,000 VND/gift) to poor children and children in especially difficult circumstances on the occasion of the new school year.
During the past term, in addition to propaganda activities to help VCNLD effectively implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies, and the tasks of union members, the school's Trade Union also supported and created conditions for union members to study and improve their qualifications, contributing to the consolidation and improvement of the quality of the school's staff and organizational apparatus. 100% of VCNLD are union members. During the term, the school's Trade Union introduced 50 outstanding union members for the Party Committee to train, resulting in 35 members joining the Communist Party of Vietnam, achieving 100% of the target set by the resolution.
The school's trade union also coordinates with the Youth Union, Student Association, Veterans Association, Education Promotion Association, etc. to organize many cultural, artistic, and sports activities, creating an exciting and united atmosphere. Currently, the school has 86/150 female union members with postgraduate degrees, reaching 57.3%; including 7 PhDs and 5 PhD students. Female union members have proactively participated in innovating teaching content and methods, and scientific research from 2017-2022, accounting for 88% of the total number of topics of the school. During the past term, the school's trade union was honored to receive many Certificates of Merit and Emulation Flags from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Can Tho City Labor Confederation, etc. for their outstanding achievements in the emulation movement for good workers and building a strong trade union organization, as well as other activities.
The Executive Committee of the CTEC Grassroots Trade Union said that the above achievements were the result of the close attention of the Party Committee, the Can Tho City Labor Federation, the active support of the CTEC Board of Directors as well as the efforts of all union members and VCNÐ. According to the assessment of Master Nguyen Thanh Long, Secretary of the Party Committee, Principal of the school, in addition to innovating the content, methods of organization and operation in accordance with reality; The Trade Union always links its activities with the political tasks of the school. The Executive Committee of the School Trade Union also promptly grasps the thoughts and aspirations of VCNÐ, proactively participates in solving pressing issues in the unit. Promoting the spirit of solidarity, collective intelligence, and cohesion among the members of the Executive Committee, between the trade union and the government and other organizations. The Trade Union also always adheres to the criteria of the "Strong Grassroots Trade Union" standard to develop a plan to strive for and fully implement it from the beginning of the year.
In the 2023-2028 term, the School Trade Union, with the motto "Innovation - Democracy - Solidarity - Development", continues to build a strong grassroots trade union organization, with the goal of 100% of trade union groups and the School Trade Union fulfilling their tasks well or better. Every year, the Trade Union introduces at least 3 outstanding trade union members for training, creating a source for Party development. Master Chau Minh Tan, Chairman of the CTEC Trade Union, said: To achieve the above goal, the Trade Union Executive Committee continues to advise the School Board of Directors to effectively implement the Law on Civil Servants and the State's policies and laws related to civil servants. Propaganda, education, and mobilization of union members and civil servants to study to improve their qualifications and professional skills. At the same time, effectively organize patriotic emulation movements to contribute to achieving the goals and tasks set out in the 2023-2028 term.
