Discovered Land Cruiser with flip license plate disguised as white license plate 80B

On the afternoon of June 30, a representative of the Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security said that the Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 2 (Team 2) under the Traffic Police Department is coordinating with the Van Don District Police (Quang Ninh) to clarify the case of a private vehicle "disguised" as a vehicle with a central agency license plate.

Previously, at around 10:00 a.m. the same day, at the Van Don - Quang Ninh Expressway Toll Station, the working group of Team 2 stopped and inspected a Land Cruiser VX car with license plate 80B - 9189 due to many suspicious signs.

At the time of inspection, there were 1 man and 4 women in the car, the driver was Mr. N.D.H (residing in Hoang Mai District, Hanoi).

Traffic police also discovered that the vehicle had a license plate number 80B - 9189, which did not match the vehicle registration issued by Hanoi City Police. At the same time, they discovered that the vehicle had a license plate flipping device with the license plate number 29A - 455.65.

Checking the vehicle registration database system of the Traffic Police Department, Team 2 determined that license plate 80B - 9189 was issued to a vehicle under the management of the Administration Department, Government Office.

Driver H. admitted that the Land Cruiser he was driving actually had the license plate 29A - 455.65 and that he had installed a license plate flipping device on his vehicle, with one side showing the correct license plate of the vehicle and the other side showing the license plate 80B - 9189. Mr. H. was also able to present the registration and inspection of the vehicle with the license plate 29A - 455.65, which he owned. Mr. H. is currently working at a central agency.

A representative of the Traffic Police Department said that Team 2 is verifying signs of profiteering by Mr. H. when he drove a car with a fake blue license plate through toll stations, appropriating the road toll of the vehicle with license plate 80B - 9189.

According to the representative of the Traffic Police Department, currently, vehicle license plates have been identified for strict management, so the Traffic Police Department recommends that any act of using license plates not issued by competent authorities, devices to change license plates or falsify vehicle documents... the person doing it will be at risk of being prosecuted or administratively handled according to the provisions of law.
