On the morning of May 13, Comrade Trieu The Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Duong province visited, presented flowers and gifts to congratulate Venerable Thich Dieu Huong, Deputy Head of the Provincial Buddhist Sangha Executive Committee (in charge of the Nuns' Association), abbot of Phong Hanh Pagoda, Quang Trung Ward (Hai Duong City); Venerable Thich Tung Lam, Head of the Thanh Mien District Buddhist Sangha Executive Committee, abbot of Dan Ha Pagoda, Pham Kha Commune (Thanh Mien) on the occasion of Buddha's Birthday 2024 - Buddhist calendar 2568.
Accompanying the delegation were representatives of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, the Provincial People's Committee Office, the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, and the Department of Home Affairs.
Along with congratulating Venerable Thich Dieu Huong and Venerable Thich Tung Lam, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee sent congratulations to all dignitaries, monks, nuns, and Buddhists in the localities on the occasion of Buddha's Birthday.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the contributions of pagodas and monks and nuns in the past year in using Buddhism to educate Buddhists and people to live a "good life, good religion", helping to stabilize the local situation. In the coming time, pagodas will continue to set an example, propagate and encourage monks and nuns and Buddhists to comply with the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws, and make more practical contributions to the local socio-economic development.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trieu The Hung requested Thanh Mien district to pay attention to supporting the renovation and upgrading of Dan Ha pagoda to be more spacious and clean, helping the pagoda have the best conditions to promote the values of Buddhism in life, as well as contribute to improving the spiritual life of people inside and outside the area.
