On June 25, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich - Vice Chairwoman in charge of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee - signed a decision to administratively sanction Mr. Khong Van Tuan (44 years old, residing in An Phu commune, Pleiku city, Gia Lai).
Accordingly, Mr. Tuan was fined 11 million VND for driving in the wrong lane, causing a traffic accident.
Mr. Tuan was also fined 17 million VND for causing a traffic accident without preserving the scene; and 35 million VND for driving on the road with a breath alcohol concentration exceeding 0.4 mg/liter of breath.
The total fine for all violations of Mr. Khong Van Tuan is 63 million VND.
In addition, Mr. Tuan also received an additional penalty of having his B1 driver's license revoked for 24 months.
Previously, as reported by Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Tuan was the driver of the car in the accident on Highway 19 on the afternoon of June 1.
Accordingly, at the above time, Mr. Tuan drove his personal car on National Highway 19 from Mang Yang district to Pleiku city.
When reaching Km141, passing through Ha Long 1 village, Kdang commune, Dak Doa district, Mr. Tuan's car collided with a car driven by Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Hang (35 years old, residing in Kdang commune, Dak Doa district) going in the opposite direction.
The accident injured Ms. Hang and she was taken to the hospital by local people for emergency treatment.
After the accident, driver Tuan did not stop but continued to drive away from the scene. Upon receiving the report, the traffic police organized a chase and arrested the driver and vehicle later.
It is known that Mr. Tuan has the rank of lieutenant colonel, currently working at the Military Command of Dak Doa district, Gia Lai province.
