Fo Gong Temple is located in Shanxi, China. The impressive and prominent structure of the temple is the Sakyamuni Pagoda.

The wooden tower was built in the 11th century during the Liao Dynasty. In 1195, it was renovated and expanded during the Jin Dynasty.

The structure has survived hundreds of years and many major earthquakes. The wooden tower is built on a 4m high stone base. The total height of the entire structure is more than 67m.

This is the oldest wooden pagoda still standing in China. The entire structure demonstrates the wisdom and talent of craftsmen hundreds of years ago.

The wooden tower of the Fo Gong Temple is considered an architectural "gem" by experts inside and outside China because of its long history and unique, impressive design.

From the outside, the building has only 5 floors, but standing inside, you will see that the entire tower has 9 floors. Each floor has a Buddha statue. Inside the tower, there are very sophisticated carvings on the ceiling. Windows are arranged on 8 sides of the tower, from here, visitors can see the whole surrounding view.
