The surreal scene at Donglin Temple, Xingzi County, Jiangxi Province (China), was accidentally captured by a photographer using a drone in the first days of the new year.
According to Newsflare , a photographer named Cheng, who captured the scene, called it a "spectacular display of nature".
The image shows a 48m tall Amitabha Buddha statue appearing in the middle of a "sea of clouds". Many people after watching it compared the scene to the "Buddha descends to earth" scene in the movie Journey to the West.
This is one of the tallest Amitabha Buddha statues in the world, plated with 48kg of gold, with a total cost of up to 162 million USD (more than 4,000 billion VND).
Donglin Temple was influential during the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907). It once housed more than 1,000 monks and covered 120,000 square meters with 310 rooms and halls.
Today, visitors can come here to visit without having to buy an entrance ticket.
