On the morning of June 16, the Thai Binh Provincial Fisheries Association held a congress of delegates for the 2023-2028 term.

Leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development presented flowers to congratulate the congress.

In the past term, the Thai Binh Provincial Fisheries Association has always focused on activities to build and develop the association organization in the province; protect the legitimate rights and interests of members; promote activities to support members in developing production and business effectively. Up to now, the province has 15 branches with 2,408 members. Aquaculture, aquaculture and seafood processing activities in the province have developed significantly, including the contribution of the Provincial Fisheries Association. The annual growth rate of the fisheries sector is an average of 6.5%. In the field of fisheries exploitation, in 2022, the province has 756 fishing vessels with a total capacity of 142,432CV registered and updated in the national fishing vessel data software Vnfishbase. Strong development of aquaculture creates conditions for career transition for many members and fishermen, creating jobs for fishermen. In 2022, aquaculture output will reach 181,879 tons.

In the 2023-2028 term, the Thai Binh Fisheries Association will change its name to the Thai Binh Fisheries Association. The Association sets a target of striving for a growth rate of 4.5% per year in the 2023-2028 period for the fisheries sector, accounting for 30% of the production value in the structure of the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector. Innovate the work of building and developing the association, striving to establish 100% of branch organizations in communes and towns with fishing activities.

The Executive Committee of Thai Binh Fisheries Association for the 2023 - 2028 term was introduced at the congress.

At the Congress, members voted to amend the Charter of Thai Binh Fisheries Association; elected the Executive Committee of the Provincial Fisheries Association for the 2023-2028 term, consisting of 31 members.

On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fisheries Association awarded certificates of merit to a collective and two individuals; the Provincial Fisheries Association awarded a collective and five individuals with outstanding achievements in developing the Association and local fisheries.
