Speaking at a campaign event in Iowa on December 2, Mr. Trump said it was important to look closely at the vote in the battleground states that could decide the 2024 general election. He pointed to the largest cities in the states of Michigan, Pennsylvania and Georgia.
"So the most important part of what's going to happen is protecting the vote. And you should go into Detroit, you should go into Philadelphia and you should go into this place, Atlanta," Trump said in the Des Moines, Iowa suburb of Ankeny. Detroit is in Michigan, Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania and Atlanta is the capital of Georgia.

Former President Trump did not specify who he was asking to “go into” the cities. Asked to clarify the call, a Trump campaign aide said the former president was referring to poll watchers and volunteers whose goal was to ensure a safe election.
The newspaper's call comes ahead of what could be a controversial US presidential election in November 2024, according to Reuters.
Despite losing dozens of lawsuits challenging the results of the 2020 presidential election, Mr. Trump continues to claim, without providing evidence, that he lost to US President Joe Biden due to fraud.
Recent polls show that Mr. Trump is still leading in the race to become the Republican presidential nominee for the 2024 election, according to Reuters.
Meanwhile, in a recent interview with NBC, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis pledged to win the Republican primary that begins in Iowa on January 15, 2024. Mr. DeSantis has poured resources into this state to compete with Mr. Trump and candidate Nikki Haley.
