With a majority of votes in favor, the National Assembly voted to approve the two positions of Minister of Natural Resources and Environment and Minister of Justice.

On August 26, the 8th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly was held to carry out personnel work under the authority of the National Assembly. At the session, Secretary General of the National Assembly Bui Van Cuong presented the draft resolution of the National Assembly on the approval and appointment of two personnel nominated as Minister of Natural Resources and Environment and Minister of Justice for the 2021-2026 term at the proposal of the Prime Minister. Specifically, Mr. Do Duc Duy, Secretary of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee, was nominated for the position of Minister of Natural Resources and Environment; Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh, Secretary of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, was nominated for the position of Minister of Justice. On that basis, the National Assembly voted to pass the resolution approving the Prime Minister's proposal to appoint Mr. Do Duc Duy as Minister of Natural Resources and Environment and Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh as Minister of Justice for the 2021-2026 term by electronic voting. With 100% of the votes in favor, with 426 delegates participating in the vote (equal to 88.57% of the total number of delegates), of which 426 delegates approved (equal to 88.57% of the total number of delegates), Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh assumed the position of Minister of Justice, replacing Mr. Le Thanh Long, who was approved by the National Assembly and appointed as Deputy Prime Minister since June 2024. Mr. Do Duc Duy assumed the position of Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, replacing Mr. Dang Quoc Khanh. Since the beginning of the 2021-2026 term, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has changed its ministerial position twice, with Mr. Tran Hong Ha being approved and appointed as Deputy Prime Minister and Mr. Dang Quoc Khanh resigning from work. On August 11, the Prime Minister assigned Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, to run the operations of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
