"One Piece" causes global fever, breaking stereotypes about film adaptations

The Hollywood Reporter has just voted the live-action One Piece as one of the most worth-watching series in early September. Released on Netflix on August 31, One Piece received many positive responses from both international and Vietnamese audiences.

One Piece is adapted from the Japanese manga of the same name. Forbes magazine said that this is a rare Netflix series that has reached 10,000 positive reviews from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes (95% rating) just a few days after its release.

With Rotten Tomatoes critics, the film also received positive feedback with an 83% "tomato fresh" certification.

On IMDb, the film received a rating of 8.5/10 from a total of more than 38,000 reviews. Metacritic also gave One Piece a rating of 6.7/10 from critics and 7.8/10 from audiences.

In Vietnam, One Piece is also "taking over" social networking sites and film forums. The work is currently at the top of the list of most popular TV shows on Netflix in many countries, including Vietnam.

The live-action version of One Piece was warmly received by audiences thanks to its faithfulness to the original, beautiful cinematography, and perfect acting by the cast. The film's success contributed to breaking the audience's prejudice about the weakness of films adapted from comics.

The film is set in a fictional setting during the golden age of piracy. After the death of Pirate King Gold Roger (Michael Dorman), he left behind a clue about the One Piece treasure in the Grand Line - a dangerous area in the middle of the vast ocean. As a result, people flocked to the sea to search for the treasure.

The 8 episodes of One Piece revolve around Luffy's journey to pursue his dream. On the biggest adventure of his life, Monkey meets many good friends and enemies as well as has interesting experiences about life.

To be faithful to the original, the film's crew invited artist Eiichiro Oda (author of the One Piece manga) to co-produce the work. This ensures that the live-action One Piece version is true to every detail of the original.

For One Piece fans, the success of the film also comes from its beautiful images and vivid action scenes. The series of fighting scenes of the characters are staged as elaborately as in film projects.

The character designs in the film are meticulously crafted, quite similar to the original. The male lead Iñaki Godoy of One Piece is the surprising factor that makes the project successful. Before One Piece , he was not very famous, but with his charming and natural acting, Iñaki Godoy makes the character Monkey become approachable.
