Recently, Vietnamese audiences were delighted to discover that in episode 7 of One Piece, there were images of farmers wearing conical hats. Many people happily commented that the image of Vietnam was incorporated into the Netflix blockbuster.
In Vietnam, One Piece is also causing a stir and is a hot topic on movie forums. Details that are said to be related to Vietnam in episode 7 make Vietnamese audiences even more excited about the movie.
From the positive effect of One Piece, the producers of this project announced that season 2 of the film is ready.
Sharing with Variety, the producer of One Piece said that the script for part 2 has been completed and the broadcast time may take place in the next year. "We already have the script," Marty Adelstein - CEO of Tomorrow Studios (the producer of One Piece) - shared with Variety.
However, the film cannot be produced due to the strike of screenwriters and actors in Hollywood. If the Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) reaches a rights agreement with the Association of Television Producers (AMPTP), One Piece and other Hollywood films can be filmed.
"If we work at full capacity, hopefully the film can be on air within the next 12 to 18 months," said Becky Clements, president of Tomorrow Studios.
One Piece is set in a fantasy world where pirates and marines fight for control of the Blue Sea. Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) grows up with the ambition of becoming the pirate king. He has special powers thanks to his rubbery body.
In his quest to find the famous treasure of the pirate king Gold Roger (Michael Dorman), Monkey D. Luffy gathered like-minded teammates on the Going Merry ship to head to the Grand Line.
The film features a cast of promising young actors. The manga author himself - Eiichiro Oda - participated in the filmmaking process, helping to edit the script.
