On December 23, Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 7, Department 6, Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) said that they are coordinating with professional units of Tien Giang Provincial Police to investigate the cause of the car fire on the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway.

Initial information, at around 11:30 a.m. the same day, driver Vo Van H. (49 years old, residing in Xuan Thoi Dong commune, Hoc Mon district, Ho Chi Minh City) drove a car with a Long An license plate on the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong highway, heading from the Western provinces to Ho Chi Minh City.

When reaching the section in Tan Ly Dong commune, Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province, the car suddenly caught fire from the front of the car.

Discovering the incident, driver H. stopped the car in the emergency lane, left the vehicle with his nephew, and tried to put out the fire but was unsuccessful.

Upon receiving the news, the Traffic Police arrived to regulate traffic. At the same time, the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department of Tien Giang Province Police dispatched 2 fire trucks and many officers and soldiers to the scene to rescue.

The fire was extinguished about 30 minutes later. The car was damaged.

The driver told the police that he had just bought the car at a store in Ben Tre for 100 million VND. The driver drove the car home, and when he got to the location, it caught fire.
