Action changes life
Bai Jian (Chinese nationality) was born in a very poor village in Liaoning province, China. When he was in primary school, Jian had to walk a long distance, crossing the mountain road to get to school.
In middle school, Jian had a strong passion for sports. He participated in the school's 1,500-meter race and won the championship. In order for him to go to university and fulfill his dream, his parents borrowed money everywhere. The villagers also raised money for Jian's education. Therefore, he was determined to move forward, not to disappoint the expectations of his family and the community.
Jian understood that a child from a poor background had to work much harder than others.
In 1995, he became a physical education teacher at a middle school in Anshan City. At that time, Bai Jian was only 22 years old and had Xiaohao - his first adopted child.
Bai Jian and Xiaohao met when Xiaohao was a naughty boy who had no money to pay his tuition and was at risk of being expelled. Xiaohao's parents were divorced and he had nowhere to go. So Bai Jian took him to the dormitory to raise him.
If he hadn't sponsored Xiao Hao, Bai Jian would have been married and had children long ago. However, he still made a decision that changed his entire life.
At that time, Jian's salary was very low. In order to have money to feed two mouths, he tried to find a way to do business outside and earned 1,000 yuan. However, Xiao secretly stole his money and ran away.
When he found Xiaohao, Jian was extremely disappointed and returned him to his biological mother. However, his mother refused to take him back and chased them both away, so Jian had to take the boy back to the dormitory.
In the following days, Jian only ate steamed buns and pickles. Seeing his benefactor suffer after his actions, Xiao also woke up and wished Jian would become his father.

From the dormitory, Jian went out to rent an apartment. He and the children had to move several times because the landlord did not agree to have too many people in the apartment. The housing problem was only solved when Jian was lent a 68 square meter house by a colleague.
Every night, when the children were fast asleep, Jian tossed and turned due to the immense financial pressure, to the point of coughing up blood several times. Jian had to borrow money from his credit card to take care of the children.
Seeing that he was upset, Xiaoyong came to talk to him and discussed ways to do small businesses to help him take care of his siblings. From then on, his financial worries were gradually resolved.
Gradually, the number of children adopted by Bai Jian increased. The adopted children were all orphans, abandoned children, homeless children, thieves, etc. Jian educated them to become good children.
He always makes his children aware of his passion for sports.
Every day, Bai Jian wakes up at 4am and practices with his younger siblings until 6am. Because he understands that a child from a poor family must work hard if he wants to change his fate.
As the number of adopted children increased, especially the girls, Jian could no longer handle the responsibility of taking care of them. Therefore, he "hinted" and asked his mother to come to the city to live with him.
Thinking that her son wanted her to move in with him, Jian's mother sold the family's 12 cows and packed up to move to the city. On the first day she arrived at the apartment, she was shocked to see dozens of children in the house.
After hearing her son's explanation, she did not get angry and agreed to stay and take care of them. Every day, after school, the children would help her with the housework, sometimes gathering around her and saying, "Grandma, I miss you," which made Jian's mother very happy.

Later, as the number of adopted children increased, Bai Jian's father, sister, and brothers-in-law came to help.
29 years have passed, Jian has adopted more than 200 children. His former colleague also agreed to sell him the apartment where the children were living at a low price. Now, those children from unhappy pasts, thanks to foster fathers like Jian, have a better future.
Jian also got married and had his own family, but was always concerned about the children's lives.
