On the morning of January 14, a representative of the Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) said that the female driver who caused a traffic accident that killed one person on National Highway 1A through Cam Quang Commune (Cam Xuyen District, Ha Tinh Province) tested positive for alcohol concentration.

Specifically, the traffic accident occurred at 1:40 a.m. the same day, at Km522+100 on National Highway 1A, passing through Cam Quang Commune (Cam Xuyen District, Ha Tinh Province). At the time of the accident, Ms. PTNM (23 years old, residing in Ha Tinh) was driving a car with license plate 38A-516.XX when she suddenly crashed into a truck with license plate 78C-037.XX driven by Mr. LNQ (34 years old, residing in Phu Yen).

At this time, the damaged truck was parked on the side of the road. Driver Q. was getting out of the car to check the vehicle when the car driven by Ms. M. hit it.

As a result, Mr. LNQ died on the spot, the car with license plate 38A-516.XX was severely damaged. The result of Ms. PTNM's alcohol concentration test was 0.385 mg/L of breath.

Reporting to the police, Ms. M. said that she had consumed alcohol and beer at a friend's birthday party and was driving from Ha Tinh city home.

Previously, also in Ha Tinh, a traffic accident occurred that killed two people on the spot. Specifically, at around 3:50 a.m. on January 13, a motorbike with a Ha Tinh license plate collided with a truck with a Lao license plate parked on National Highway 1A (through Ky Anh town).

At this time, the truck was driven by driver NXS (48 years old, from Ha Tinh). Meanwhile, the police identified two people on the motorbike, NVĐ (31 years old) and NVT (23 years old).

The accident killed two victims on the motorbike (from Ky Anh town). Police have not yet identified the driver at the time of the accident.

Through blood alcohol test, the results showed that victim NVĐ. had an alcohol concentration of 213.9 mg/dL of blood. Meanwhile, victim NVT had an alcohol concentration of 206.1 mg/dL of blood.

A representative of the Traffic Police Department said that the alcohol concentration of the two victims was very high, nearly 3 times higher than the maximum penalty prescribed in Decree 100.
