On the morning of January 1, at Da Nang airport, the city's Department of Tourism held a ceremony to welcome 140 tourists from Hanoi to visit and travel on the first day of the new year 2024.
Speaking to the press at the welcoming ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Tourism, said that on the first day of the year, the city held a welcoming ceremony for 3 flights. The other two flights welcomed at the international arrival terminal included: a Vietjet flight carrying 140 passengers from Incheon (South Korea); a Vietnam Airlines flight carrying 154 passengers from Narita (Japan).
According to Ms. An, these 3 flights open a new path for the city's tourism industry in 2024 with much excitement and expectations for recovery.

During the 3-day New Year holiday in 2024 alone, the city will welcome nearly 450 international and domestic flights, an increase of 10% compared to 2023. This shows the strong growth of flights to Da Nang, proving that this is a favorite destination for domestic and foreign tourists.
"In 2024, with the efforts and expectations of the industry and the tourism business community, I think the city's tourism will grow even stronger," Ms. An affirmed.
According to Ms. An, the biggest goal of the tourism industry in the new year 2024 is to welcome 8.43 million visitors. This scenario has shown growth compared to 2019, demonstrating the effort to overcome current difficulties to achieve the goal in the new year.

Talking about plans for the new year, Ms. An said that the city has outlined many promotions, advertising, and expanding flight routes. In particular, promotion work will be carried out more strongly in international markets, diversifying the market in terms of both nationality and product types.

According to the Da Nang Department of Tourism, in 2023, the number of visitors staying at accommodation establishments in the city is estimated at 7.39 million, double that of 2022. Revenue from accommodation, food and beverage, and travel for the whole year of 2023 is estimated at 28,000 billion VND, up 44% compared to 2022.
In 2024, the city aims to generate revenue from accommodation, food and beverage, and travel services of VND30,800 billion. Also this year, the city will focus on starting a number of key projects such as the light river complex and inland waterway wharf project, the complex of works serving the international fireworks festival, and the cultural and entertainment park southeast of the Memorial.
