NTO - Provincial People's Committee meets to assess economic situation

On August 4, Comrade Tran Quoc Nam, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired an online meeting to review the direction and management of socio -economic development in July and deploy key tasks for August 2023.

In July, the province's socio-economic situation continued to be stable and had some progress, agriculture remained stable, the annual crop planting area was estimated at 29,611.9 hectares, up 5.8% over the same period, shrimp seed production continued to promote its advantages and increased quite well to 23.9 billion, up 0.7%; processing and manufacturing industry recovered; trade and services continued to develop and had quite good growth over the same period; the industrial production index (IIP) in July increased by 10.9%, the accumulated increase in the first 7 months of the year increased by 8.4% over the same period. The consumer price index (CPI) in the month increased by 3.2%, the average increase in the first 7 months of the year increased by 4.85% over the same period. Tourism activities continued to grow positively, attracting 464,400 visitors in the month, up 28.3% over the same period, the accumulated 7 months estimated at 2,170,400 visitors, reaching 80.4% of the plan and increasing 20.9% over the same period. Total budget revenue in the area in the month reached 271.8 billion VND, the accumulated 7 months revenue was 2,088 billion VND, reaching 57.1% of the plan. In the month, job counseling and vocational training support were provided to 1,836 people, bringing the total number of people referred for vocational training support since the beginning of the year to 16,589 people. The political security situation, order, social safety, military and national defense work were maintained and stable; focusing on directing drills in the defense areas of Ninh Phuoc and Thuan Nam districts; traffic accidents were controlled, reducing all 3 criteria. However, there are still some difficulties in socio-economic development, some processed and manufactured products still have difficulties in consumption markets and lack of input materials, seafood exports have decreased, budget revenue is still difficult; the disbursement rate of public investment capital has only reached 34.8% of the plan, the auction of public assets is still slow, and business activities are still difficult.

Concluding the meeting, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that in the current difficult conditions, the implementation of the goals and tasks of the 2023 plan is a huge challenge. To overcome difficulties and strive to complete the growth target in 2023 according to the proposed plan scenario, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that sectors and localities need to be more determined and have higher consensus in implementing key breakthrough tasks and solutions in the last months of the year. Focus on accelerating public investment, striving to fully utilize capital in 2023, especially removing bottlenecks in disbursement of capital for national target programs; focus on breakthroughs in the service and tourism sectors, promoting the energy industry and the processing and manufacturing industry; maintain growth in the agriculture and fishery sectors; remove difficulties and obstacles for businesses. Effectively deploy tasks and solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles in production and business activities, promote administrative procedure reform at all levels associated with digital transformation.
