NTO - The 4th Congress of Delegates of the Provincial Association for Supporting Poor Patients, term 2023

On October 20, the Provincial Association for Supporting Poor Patients (PWD) held its 4th Congress for the 2023-2028 term. Attending the event were comrades: Tran Quoc Nam, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; members of the Provincial Party Committee: Le Van Binh, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Tran Minh Luc, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Long Bien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and 89 official delegates representing 2,403 members of the Provincial Association for Supporting Poor Patients.

With the goal of "Supporting the health care sector for the poor, acting as a bridge for benefactors to support and help the poor, the poor, and people in especially difficult circumstances", in the past term, the Provincial Association for the Protection of the Poor mobilized funds to sponsor humanitarian and charitable programs with a total value of nearly 57 billion VND. From this fund, the Association has implemented 11 humanitarian programs to support and help over 1.3 million people. Notably, the program of heart screening for over 1,500 people, prescribing surgery for 127 cases; eye surgery for 974 people; providing over 1,000,000 free meals; rehabilitation for 53 people with disabilities; free examination and medicine for over 174,000 people; building 84 new houses for the poor with housing difficulties...

During the 2023-2028 term, the Provincial Association of the Disabled will continue to act as a "bridge" for philanthropists and kind-hearted people to support and help the disabled, the poor, and people in especially difficult circumstances; strive to increase the number of disabled and the poor cared for through the association's activities by 5-10% compared to the previous term; prioritize heart surgery programs for children, eye surgery, and surgery for children with disabilities and deformities.

Speaking at the congress, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and praised the humanitarian activities of the Provincial Association for the Protection of Agricultural Diseases in the past term. He suggested that in the coming time, the Provincial Association for the Protection of Agricultural Diseases continue to pay attention to the work of building the Association's organization, developing members and developing action plans for the branches.

Continue to promote the capacity to mobilize funds, take advantage of funding sources and contributions from socio-economic organizations to diversify funding sources for the Association's activities; promote the spirit of solidarity, enhance the responsibility of each member, fight against wrongdoings and abuses that affect the Association's reputation. The Provincial People's Committee always pays attention to accompanying and creating favorable conditions for the Association to continue to successfully complete its tasks in the 2023-2028 term. He called on businessmen and benevolent hearts to continue to promote the spirit of "mutual love" to support and help the poor and the disabled.

Provincial leaders presented flowers to congratulate the Executive Committee of the Provincial Association for Supporting Poor Patients for the 2023-2028 term on its debut at the Congress.

The Congress elected 19 delegates to the Executive Committee for the 4th term 2023-2028; Ms. Hoang Thi Ut Lan was elected by the Congress to hold the position of President of the Provincial Association for the Protection of Agricultural Products for the 2023-2028 term. Comrade Le Van Binh, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee was introduced as Honorary President of the Association.

Comrade Tran Quoc Nam, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to collectives with outstanding achievements in charity work, period 2018-2023.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 10 collectives and 10 individuals with outstanding achievements in charity work, contributing to economic development, stabilizing life, and social security, period 2018-2023. The Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee awarded a certificate of merit to the Association for the Protection of Agricultural Workers for its outstanding achievements in social security work in the province, period 2018-2023.
