Customers were startled to see People's Artist Viet Anh working as a waiter.
In the recent program "Drama and Arts", People's Artist Viet Anh and Meritorious Artist Thanh Loc had the opportunity to recall memories of their artistic careers.
It is known that the two artists have known each other since they were young. At that time, they both performed at the 5B Drama Theater and had to ride bicycles to each other.

Meritorious Artist Thanh Loc recalls: "Back then, I only had a bicycle to ride, because I was afraid that people would ask me to carry them, and the bike would get worn out, so I had to remove the back seat. At that time, I was very skinny, only half as skinny as I am now.
My house and Viet Anh's house were close to each other at that time, and we were both acting in the play Loi Vu . Viet Anh didn't have a bike, so I had to pick him up every time he practiced or performed. But because the bike didn't have a back seat, Viet Anh had to carry me, and I sat on the front frame of the bike.
The two brothers pedaled their bikes to the stage, exhausted, but they got into their roles perfectly. The funniest thing was that Viet Anh had to play the role of a rich capitalist right after pedaling his bike.
The next morning, Viet Anh had to go to work as a waiter at a coffee shop. The owner of the coffee shop was Meritorious Artist Hoa Ha, the cashier was People's Artist Hong Van. Once I went there and saw that the shop was empty, so I bought 8 cans of beer to support him.
People's Artist Viet Anh admitted that although it was hard back then, it was very fun. Recalling the past, he recalled the memories of the time when he performed on stage and worked as a waiter.
"Once, a girl came by car to drink coffee, I went out to give her the menu. She looked up and saw me and was startled. People can't believe that an artist who was on stage the day before would be working as a waiter the next day like me."
Beautiful memories of Da co hoai lang
Some time later, Meritorious Artist Thanh Loc left Stage 5B to return to Stage Idecaf. The artist duo rarely performed together on stage, occasionally both of them acted together in a film project.
"The time apart was almost 20 years. After that, we had the opportunity to perform together again in the play Da Co Hoai Lang ," Meritorious Artist Thanh Loc said.

Regarding this classic play, artist Viet Anh was moved: "A play that has been so attractive for the past 29 years, there is nothing more to say than "beautiful". It is beautiful not because we acted well but because the public's love for it is so great.
Now, I remember the people who created it, the late artist Thanh Hoang created the script, then the seniors in the Theater Association commented on the script. Each person contributed a little bit to create a good play for us artists to perform.
Initially, Thanh Hoang wrote the script Da Co Hoai Lang to participate in the National Performance Festival, but after writing it, no one could stage it because it was too difficult. Later, we staged it together."
Thanh Loc continued: "The first person to give me the script for this play was Cong Ninh. At that time, Cong Ninh said that this play won fourth prize at the National Performance Festival. After listening, I agreed to perform it right away because at that time, plays that won first and second prizes were often highly political, which was not suitable for me.
I need more life and love plays, so I thought that this play Da Co Hoai Lang won the fourth prize, so there would be less political commentary. Speaking from a business perspective, such plays are easier to sell tickets. When I read the script, I was really moved and agreed to stage the play."
Meritorious Artist Thanh Loc said, Da Co Hoai Lang is a sad story. Many times when he comes home, removes his makeup, but the sadness still lingers and haunts him. The male artist has to find a coffee shop with music to forget that sadness.
"After the role, my eyesight deteriorated and I had to wear glasses to read the script. At that time, I was only in my 30s. But that was a sacrifice in a career I was passionate about. So if my eyesight becomes blurred but the audience loves me, I think it is not too expensive a price to pay," Meritorious Artist Thanh Loc confided.
