Novak Djokovic wins first Olympic gold medal

Novak Djokovic won the Tennis Gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics after a dramatic 7-6, 7-6 victory over Carlos Alcaraz in a final that lasted nearly 3 hours.

Novak Djokovic has excellently defeated Carlos Alcaraz 7-6, 7-6 in a classic match in Tennis at the 2024 Paris Olympics that lasted nearly 3 hours. This is also the first time Novak Djokovic has won a Gold medal at an Olympics after many missed appointments. Previously, the best achievement that the Serbian tennis player had was winning a Bronze medal at the 2008 Olympics held in China. This impressive achievement helps Novak Djokovic complete the "career Golden Slam" when he has won enough titles at 4 prestigious Grand Slam tournaments, and now the Olympic Gold medal. Novak Djokovic is also a Grand Slam record holder with a total of 24 titles; in addition to many ATP awards in his career. The final match was exciting from the start when the two players did not lose any breaks in their service games, forcing them to enter a tie-break to determine the winner in set 1 when the score was 6-6. In the tie-break, Djokovic defeated Alcaraz 7-3 to win the first set and temporarily lead 1-0 (7-6). In the second set, the scenario did not change, making the match extremely dramatic when the two players once again tied 6-6 after 12 games and had to fight in a tie-break. In the second tie-break, Djokovic continued to play with more courage to win overwhelmingly 7-2, thereby ending the Olympic men's singles tennis final with a final score of 2-0 (7-6, 7-6) and winning the prestigious Gold medal.
