Novak Djokovic shares his feelings after winning Roland Garros 2023

After defeating Casper Ruud in the final and winning the 2023 Roland Garros championship, Novak Djokovic mentioned two legends Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.

Sharing with ATP after the final match in Paris (France), Djokovic said: "I always compare myself with Nadal and Federer because they are my two biggest rivals in my career.

I have said many times that they define me as a player. In a way, they have contributed to my success, thanks to the rivalry and the classic confrontations of the past."

In the Roland Garros final, Djokovic defeated Casper Ruud in 3 sets with the scores 7-6, 6-3, 7-5.

This is the third time Nole has won the Roland Garros championship and in 2023, he will capture both Grand Slam titles (Australian Open and Roland Garros).

Djokovic has won a record 23 Grand Slam titles and he has the chance to improve his record with two major tournaments this year: Wimbledon and US Open.

Nadal has 22 Grand Slam titles, while Federer has 20 Grand Slam titles.

After setting a record at the Grand Slam tournament, Djokovic expressed his happiness: "It's great to know that I have now surpassed Nadal and Federer in the number of Grand Slams.

I've spent countless hours thinking and analyzing what it takes to beat them. Professionally, they've been on my mind for the past 15 years."

After winning Roland Garros, Djokovic will return to the world number one position and set a record of 388 weeks at the top of the ATP rankings. He is also the first player in history to win at least three Grand Slams.

Regarding his upcoming goals, Djokovic expressed confidence: "When talking about history, people mainly talk about the number of Grand Slams or the time you spent at world number one. I have succeeded in breaking records in both of these statistics.

I don't want to say I'm the best, because I feel like that would be disrespectful to the great champions in different eras of tennis, because the tournaments of the past were very different from today.

My journey is not over yet. If I am still winning Grand Slams, why should I think about ending my career of nearly 20 years? I still feel motivated and inspired. Right now I am ready for Wimbledon."

This is the third time in his career that Nole has won the Roland Garros championship after reaching the highest podium in 2016 and 2021.

With this title, the Serbian tennis player also officially surpassed Rafael Nadal to hold the record for the number of Grand Slam titles.

Noval became the first male singles player to win 23 Grand Slam titles in the history of world tennis.

Of his 23 Grand Slam titles, he has won 10 Australian Championships, 3 Roland Garros, 7 Wimbledon and 3 US Open.
