On the afternoon of May 21, a leader of the People's Committee of Ea Hu commune (Cu Kuin district, Dak Lak) confirmed that the unit had received a report from a local household about the destruction of a durian garden and had assigned the commune police to coordinate and verify the matter.
According to initial information, at around 8:30 a.m. the same day, Mr. Luong Van Duc (41 years old, residing in village 8, Ea Hu commune, Cu Kuin district) and his wife were working in the fields when they received a phone call from their father reporting that the durian garden had been vandalized by bad guys.

Upon receiving the news, Mr. Duc and his wife immediately ran home and were shocked to discover that the entire durian garden had been cut down by bad guys and the young fruit was piled up at the base.
Through counting, more than 1,600 young durian fruits from 54 trees in the garden were cut and destroyed, causing estimated damage of about 500 million VND.

According to Mr. Duc, it rained heavily the night before, so thieves may have sneaked into the garden to cut down the family's durians to destroy them.
"I have no grudge against anyone, but the destruction of the durian garden caused great damage and I hope the authorities will soon find the culprit," said Mr. Duc.
When discovering that the family's durian garden had been destroyed, Mr. Duc's wife sat down on the street and burst into tears. The damage was so great that Mr. Duc and his wife still could not believe it was true.
It is known that the durian trees that were cut were in the process of growing and are expected to be harvested next August.
