Dak Nong is entering the rainy season. This is the peak period for caring for and preventing pests and diseases for crops. Therefore, farmers are implementing many technical measures to help crops grow well, ensuring productivity and efficiency for the whole crop.
Dak Nong has about 212,500 hectares of key crops including coffee, pepper, rubber, and cashew; about 14,400 hectares of fruit trees and 53,000 hectares of annual crops.
To prevent harmful pests such as nematodes, mealybugs, fungi, leaf and root pests, quick and slow death diseases, during the rainy season, people need to prune living pillars to keep the pepper garden airy.
Farmers use pesticides properly and effectively; supplement nutrients for the garden scientifically. The garden needs to be airy to limit fungi and aphids.
Mr. Vu Van Yen, Truong Xuan commune (Dak Song), is pouring medicine to prevent root fungus on 400 pepper plants of his family. According to Mr. Yen, to reduce fungus in the rainy season for pepper, farmers must drain water well, not let water stagnate in the pepper roots.
Along with that, people need to regularly visit the garden to detect pests early and take timely measures to prevent and treat them, avoiding spreading.
I have 800 pepper plants. When the rainy season comes, I have to regularly go to the garden to check the leaves and roots of the pepper plants to detect diseases early and use appropriate prevention measures.

Dak Nong has about 6,139 hectares of durian, yielding about 22,281 tons/crop. Currently, durian is entering the stage of caring for young fruit. This is the most important stage, deciding this year's durian crop.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Thanh's durian garden in Dak Ru commune (Dak R'lap) is tying the fruit to prevent branches from breaking. According to Mr. Thanh, ensuring adequate nutrition, maintaining humidity, and avoiding heat shock at this time is extremely important in caring for durian.
The first rains of the season this year caused the durians in my garden to drop young fruit in large numbers, which was heartbreaking. Currently, I am focusing on taking care of the durians to limit fruit drop.

Entering the rainy season is also the time when coffee berries begin to grow rapidly in size. Therefore, caring for and providing nutrition to coffee plants is very important.
At this stage, coffee berries need a lot of nutrients. Moreover, pests, especially fungi and stem borers, attack leaves, branches and young fruits a lot.
According to farmers, taking care of coffee at the beginning of the rainy season is extremely important to minimize fruit drop and help young fruit develop well.
Dak Nong has about 139,932 hectares of coffee, with an output of about 356,612 tons/crop. The current coffee price on the market is high (approximately 60,000 VND/kg). This is a big incentive for Dak Nong farmers to focus on taking care of their coffee gardens.
For cashew trees, people have pruned branches to create canopy, helping the garden to be airy. People apply balanced fertilizer at the beginning of the rainy season and when the cashew trees are about to bloom.
The rainy season is here, and it is also the time when farmers in Dak Nong province start replanting and changing crops. Many farmers choose to grow durian, passion fruit, macadamia... to develop.
Dak Nong has 53,000 hectares of annual crops. During the rainy season, many short-term crops face pests and diseases, requiring growers to proactively develop prevention plans.
