ABC News reported that a shooting occurred in downtown Chicago (USA) killing two teenage boys.
A group of students from Innovations High School had just left the school gate when two cars drove up, some masked men got out of the cars and opened fire. The victims were Robert Boston (16 years old) who was shot in the chest and Monterio Williams (17 years old) who was shot in the hip.
According to Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford, these students were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition, but died due to the severity of their injuries. Authorities are currently investigating the incident.
There have been a number of shootings targeting teenagers in downtown Chicago in recent years. In April 2023, two boys, also 16 and 17 years old, were shot in the downtown area. A year earlier, a 16-year-old boy was shot and killed in Millennium Park.
