Efforts to build advanced new rural areas

Immediately after achieving the new rural standards in 2017, in addition to efforts to maintain and improve the quality of the achieved criteria, Dich Qua commune, Thanh Son district has proactively implemented the criteria for building advanced new rural areas.

Dich Qua commune has invested in intensive tea cultivation and applied mechanization in production, contributing to increasing people's income.

To create internal strength in building new rural areas, developing the economy, and increasing the production value of key crops and livestock, the commune has focused on implementing. Many production models meet practical requirements, contributing to job creation, increasing income, and improving the lives of local people. The commune encourages people to apply scientific and technical advances in production such as: Mechanization in production; intensive forest cultivation, improving tea varieties, transferring scientific advances to people in livestock and poultry farming techniques in the direction of biosafety...

Through the implementation process, there has been a positive change in concentrated commodity production, changing the farming habits of the people. The rice planting area is stable at over 300 hectares all year round, high-quality rice varieties are put into cultivation; tea trees are 360 ​​hectares, with an average yield of 16 tons/ha; fruit trees are over 50 hectares, with stable harvests. The production forest area is over 500 hectares, the commune has developed a plan to propagate and mobilize people to effectively implement the policy of planting and protecting forests, and organize training courses on techniques for planting and caring for forest trees.

Many households have changed their thinking, boldly invested in economic development, diversified crops and livestock; built economic models of farms and ranches in the direction of multi-cropping and multi-animal farming, increasing productivity and product quality. The whole commune has 9 enterprises and cooperatives in the fields of agriculture and small-scale industry; formed a number of linkage models in livestock farming and tea production. Some new models such as growing cordyceps mushrooms, raising honey bees with about 2,800 colonies... bring high economic efficiency.

Along with that, developing service and handicraft industries such as construction materials production, wood products, garments, etc. basically meets the needs of people in the commune. The value of industrial production, handicrafts, trade and services accounts for over 60% of the commune's economic structure. Up to now, the multidimensional poverty rate in the area is below 3%, the average income per capita is over 42 million VND/year. The economy has developed, people's lives have gradually improved, the appearance of the countryside has changed, bringing the movement to build new rural areas into reality and effectiveness. Through review, the commune has achieved 12/19 criteria for advanced new rural communes and is building 2 model new rural residential areas.

The transportation system has been gradually expanded and improved according to the criteria of advanced NTM. The irrigation system has been built and upgraded, in accordance with the planning, providing irrigation water for production. Vocational training for workers has been focused on improving skills, creating jobs for people in both non-agricultural and agricultural directions, the rate of trained workers has reached nearly 80%. Cultural, artistic and sports movements have been organized with attention, thereby fostering community awareness, solidarity, and village and neighborhood ties among the people.

Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Kien - Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee said: "In the coming time, the commune will continue to strive to complete the criteria on transportation, culture, information and communication, healthcare, production organization... in building advanced new rural areas. Implementing new rural areas is associated with effectively restructuring agriculture and developing the rural economy. Effectively integrating programs and projects in the area; promoting internal resources, promoting resource mobilization from economic organizations and communities in combination with supported funding to implement investment in building advanced new rural areas".
