Speaking at the workshop, Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Ngoc Linh, Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, shared: Digital transformation is considered an inevitable trend of the world press in general and Vietnam in particular. In the world, the pioneering and successful implementation of digital transformation, bringing traditional news models to many new formats to keep up with the digital transformation trend and not only retaining old readers but also attracting many new readers in the context of information explosion, many competitive challenges from social networks.

In Vietnam, thanks to adapting and making changes in the context of digital transformation, many online newspapers in Vietnam have quickly attracted readers, while demonstrating the ability to convey information quickly and diversely. Many press works apply digital technology and data to create two-way interaction with readers, attracting and creating a sense of closeness with readers. Digital transformation at press agencies also greatly supports journalists and reporters, making it easier to collect information, conduct data analysis, produce content, etc.
In order to realize Decision 348/QD-TTg dated April 6, 2023 of the Prime Minister on the strategy of digital transformation of press agencies to 2025, with a vision to 2030, the workshop on promoting digital transformation of press and publishing agencies was organized with the aim of recognizing changes in the trend of digital transformation of press agencies, assessing the advantages and difficulties in the digital transformation process and proposing solutions to promote digital transformation activities of press and publishing agencies.
The main presentations of experts at the workshop also mentioned a variety of issues from the challenges and opportunities of digital transformation of journalism, development trends of digital journalism and publishing, the model of converging newsrooms in new trends, to activities to create new business models with the development of journalism and publishing using digital technology and data analysis, as well as technological advances, especially artificial intelligence (AI) in the production and creation of content for journalism and publishing...
Reports, presentations and discussions within the framework of the workshop also reflected different perspectives on favorable conditions for implementing digital transformation of press agencies. At the same time, they proposed fundamental solutions to support and promote digital transformation of press and publishing agencies.
