Implementing the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program in 2025, Ninh Thuan province sets a target of having 20-30 new products certified as OCOP; in which, special attention is paid to improving quality, striving to achieve 2-5 more 4-star OCOP products and 1-2 livestock products meeting OCOP 3-4 star standards. At the same time, the province will promote the consolidation and upgrading of at least 50% of OCOP products that have been evaluated, classified and develop OCOP products associated with brands and rural tourism.
At the same time, the province prioritizes the development of cooperatives and small and medium-sized enterprises in the OCOP program with the goal of increasing the proportion of OCOP subjects to at least 30% being cooperatives and 40% being small and medium-sized enterprises. Ninh Thuan strives for 30% of OCOP subjects to build a circular economic value chain, develop green OCOP associated with stable raw material areas and have at least 50% of craft villages with OCOP products, contributing to the preservation and development of local traditional craft villages.

Mr. Trinh Minh Hoang, Vice Chairman of Ninh Thuan Provincial People's Committee informed that the province is focusing on developing OCOP products in 6 groups, including: Food group; Beverage group; Medicinal herbs and medicinal products group; Handicraft group; Ornamental plants group and community tourism services, eco-tourism and tourist destinations. The province focuses on unique agricultural, non-agricultural and service products, imbued with traditional features and exploiting the specific advantages of each locality. The goal is to maximize creativity, human resources, available raw materials and cultural values to increase product value, contributing to the overall development of the community.
To implement, Ninh Thuan province has proposed 15 groups of tasks and solutions; in which, focusing on solutions to mobilize resources from the National Target Program on New Rural Development, the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction, the Program on Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion, Science and Technology; capital from units, localities, and entities to promote investment in applying science and technology, innovating production processes, preliminary processing, preservation, and deep processing of products to improve productivity and quality of OCOP products. Localities build models of agricultural and rural tourism services associated with raw material areas and typical OCOP products.
Ninh Thuan province possesses many potentials and advantages in terms of land conditions and hot, dry climate to develop a variety of agricultural products and strong OCOP products. Up to now, the whole province has 270 OCOP products with 3 stars or more; of which, there are 228 products with 3 stars, 42 products with 4 stars and 2 potential products with 5 stars.
With the goal of constantly increasing the value of OCOP products, businesses and production and trading establishments in the province are promoting linkages in clean agricultural production, building specialized growing areas, and diversifying deeply processed products, opening up opportunities to access larger consumer markets.
The area where ginseng is grown to produce ginseng tea and processed products from ginseng by Vietnam Herbal Medicine Joint Stock Company in Quang Son commune, Ninh Son district, Ninh Thuan. The company's ginseng tea products meet 3-star OCOP standards.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Quang, Director of Thai Thuan - Ninh Thuan Agricultural Products Production and Trading Company Limited (Nhon Son Commune, Ninh Son District) said that the Company annually purchases about 500 tons of apples and over 200 tons of fresh grapes from cooperatives and households that cooperate in production according to VietGAP standards. About 50% of the output is consumed fresh, the rest is processed by the Company on modern machinery lines into diverse products such as: dried apples with seeds, apple juice, apple syrup, apple vinegar, dried grapes with seeds and whole seeds, grape wine. The Company's products ensure quality standards and are widely supplied at OCOP stores, airports, supermarkets and retail chains nationwide.
To promote consumption and expand the market for OCOP products, the People's Committee of Ninh Thuan province directed relevant departments and branches such as Industry and Trade, Agriculture, Tourism and localities to increase support for OCOP entities to participate in trade promotion activities, promote OCOP products in domestic and foreign markets, and connect products to modern distribution channels. Notably, the province has developed an e-commerce trading floor at the address: http://sanphamninhthuan.vn, currently attracting nearly 100 participating units, introducing and trading about 370 OCOP products and local specialties on this platform.
