Ninh Phuoc district has a cultivated area of about 23,000 hectares. To contribute to local economic growth, the district focuses on promoting the restructuring of the agricultural sector towards commodity production, applying scientific and technological advances, improving the quality and added value of products. Mr. Dang Nang Tom, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ninh Phuoc district, said: Implementing the restructuring of the agricultural sector to adapt to climate change, the Department coordinates with localities to focus on mobilizing people to convert crops and livestock with high productivity and quality, rearrange key crops and livestock according to the strengths of each region, apply science and technology to production, in order to create high-quality, commodity agricultural products. Build a number of production models, especially high-tech agricultural models (CNC) with economic efficiency, helping farmers increase their income.
Farmers in An Hai commune (Ninh Phuoc) grow green asparagus according to VietGAP standards, bringing high economic efficiency.
Based on the Project on restructuring the provincial agricultural sector, Ninh Phuoc district has developed and implemented the Project on shifting crop structure by introducing high-value crops into production. Up to now, a number of CNC agricultural models have been formed such as: "1 must, 5 reductions" model, a large-scale rice field model with an area of about 4,000 hectares; a model of growing green asparagus in An Hai commune, Phuoc Hai; a model of producing corn seeds with an area of 140 hectares in Phuoc Son commune, Phuoc Vinh; a model of growing grapes and apples according to VietGAP standards; a water-saving irrigation model with an area of 428 hectares...
Along with that, the district also effectively implemented support policies on agricultural production development; integrated the use of capital from programs and projects to support people in converting crops, organizing science and technology transfer, introducing many new plant varieties for pilot planting and replication. In the winter-spring and summer-autumn crops of 2023, the whole district converted 77 hectares of ineffective rice land to dry crops. For example, in Phuoc Thai commune, some farming areas often suffered from water shortages, so people's production encountered many difficulties. Implementing the district's policy of converting crop structure, the commune mobilized people to convert some production areas to grow corn, green beans, etc. Mr. Vo Van Tin, in Da Trang village, said: I have 3 sao of rice land, low economic efficiency, many crops had to stop production due to lack of water. With the mobilization of commune officials, my family switched to growing corn in association with enterprises, thanks to which they had a better income.
With specific solutions, agricultural production in the district has gradually overcome the situation of small-scale and fragmented production, many products have been linked to the market. Thereby, promoting sustainable agricultural production, with many clear changes. To achieve the goal of developing agriculture in the direction of rapid and sustainable growth, in the coming time, the district will continue to direct and mobilize people to focus resources on exploiting advantages and potentials; promote the conversion of crop structure. Review, adjust and supplement the planning of CNC agricultural production areas. Promote production linkage activities; support businesses and farmers in agricultural production in the direction of goods...
