According to the Resolution on the 2024 regular university enrollment plan approved by the University Council, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy has detailed regulations on direct admission according to the enrollment regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Accordingly, candidates for direct admission to university are considered according to the provisions of Article 8 of the University Admission Regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Firstly , candidates who are Labor Heroes, People's Armed Forces Heroes, and National Emulation Fighters are admitted directly to university in all majors.

Second , direct admission is given to candidates who won first, second, and third prizes in national and international competitions for excellent students organized and sent by the Ministry of Education and Training; the time of winning the prize is no more than 3 years from the time of direct admission; have graduated from high school.

In particular, candidates who win first prize in biology in the national excellent student competition will be directly admitted to university to study medicine or dentistry; candidates who win first, second, and third prizes in the international excellent student competition will be directly admitted to university to study medicine or dentistry.

Candidates who win first, second, and third prizes in biology will be directly admitted to university to study one of the following majors: traditional medicine, preventive medicine, nursing, nursing specializing in anesthesia and resuscitation, midwifery, public health, medical testing techniques, rehabilitation techniques, medical imaging techniques, dental prosthetic techniques, and nutrition.

In chemistry, first prize winners will be admitted directly to university to study pharmacy; first, second and third prize winners will be admitted directly to university to study medical laboratory technology and pharmaceutical chemistry.

In physics, the first prize winner will be admitted directly to university to study pharmacy.

Third is direct admission of candidates who won first, second, and third prizes in national and international science and technology competitions organized and sent by the Ministry of Education and Training, the time of winning the prize is no more than 3 years from the time of direct admission, and have graduated from high school.

Candidates with projects or scientific research topics related to the field of biomedicine and the topic content is suitable for the training major, the first prize winner will be directly admitted to study at the university in the field of traditional medicine, preventive medicine. The first, second and third prizes will be directly admitted to study at the university in one of the following majors: nursing, nursing specializing in anesthesia and resuscitation, midwifery, public health, medical laboratory technology, rehabilitation technology, medical imaging technology, dental prosthetic technology, nutrition.

Candidates with projects or scientific research topics related to the fields of chemistry, pharmacy and the topic content is suitable for the training major, first, second, third prize will be directly admitted to university to study: medical testing technology, pharmaceutical chemistry.

The determination of the content of the scientific research topic related to and appropriate to the training industry is decided by the admissions council.

In addition to the above direct admission method, in 2024, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy will also use independent admission methods including: Admission based on the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam; admission based on the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam combined with preliminary selection of international English certificates (for all training majors); admission based on the results of the SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) for medical and dental majors; direct admission of students from preparatory schools according to regulations.
