The 6th session of the 15th National Assembly was held for 22.5 days (ending on November 29, 2023) in the spirit of continued innovation, solidarity, democracy, intelligence, enthusiasm and high responsibility. At this session, the National Assembly passed many important decisions related to urgent and practical issues of the country and social life in both the short and long term. In particular, the decisions were aimed at resolving the legitimate rights and interests of the people and voters nationwide, contributing to ensuring human rights in our country in the context of deep international integration with complex and unpredictable intertwined challenges.

1. Passed and commented on many draft laws and resolutions related to security, defense and people's livelihood issues . Specifically, the National Assembly passed 7 laws and 9 resolutions; commented on 8 draft laws; took a vote of confidence for 44 people holding positions elected or approved by the National Assembly; conducted supreme supervision on the topic "Implementation of National Assembly Resolutions on National Target Programs on new rural construction for the 2021-2025 period, sustainable poverty reduction for the 2021-2025 period, socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the 2021-2030 period"; conducted questions and answers on the implementation of a number of resolutions of the 14th National Assembly and from the beginning of the 15th term to the end of the 4th session on thematic supervision and questioning; considered and decided on socio-economic and state budget issues; Review the report on the synthesis of voters' and people's petitions, report on the results of monitoring the settlement of voters' petitions, and a number of other important contents.
It can be said that for the first time, in one session, the National Assembly passed and commented on many draft laws and resolutions related to healthcare, insurance, development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas, etc., compared to previous sessions; in which it passed a Resolution on the results of thematic supervision with many important contents, many recommendations and solutions to speed up the progress, improve the efficiency and quality of the National Target Programs in the coming time. This shows that the National Assembly has closely followed and institutionalized and realized the Party's policies and guidelines, especially the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, emphasizing the assurance of national security, non-traditional security, human security and the protection of human rights in our country. In which, human security and human rights are put first, first of all for a fair, civilized, democratic and happy Vietnam. During this session, the National Assembly continues to thoroughly grasp the principle: issues that require practicality, are clear, have been proven correct in practice, and have high consensus, will be resolutely implemented; issues that are unclear and have many different opinions will continue to be researched, summarized in practice, and piloted when permitted by competent authorities.
2. Social security is guaranteed; people's lives are improved. The National Assembly also unanimously assessed that from 2023 to present, in the context of the world and domestic situation having many unusual and more complicated difficulties and challenges than forecast, but thanks to the synchronous participation of the entire political system; the close, smooth and timely coordination of the Government, sectors and levels; the effective and close supervision of the National Assembly; the companionship of the people and businesses, our country has achieved many important and quite comprehensive results in all fields.
In his closing speech, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue summarized the achievements in socio-economic aspects, affirming: The macro-economy is stable, inflation is controlled, and major balances of the economy are ensured. Economic growth has gradually recovered in a more positive direction, with GDP forecast to increase by over 5% in 2023 and at least 10/15 major socio-economic targets completed. Social security is guaranteed; people's lives are improved. The fields of culture, society, health, and education continue to receive attention and development. Inspection, examination, citizen reception, settlement of complaints and denunciations, and prevention and combat of corruption and negativity continue to be promoted; national defense and security are consolidated and enhanced; independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity; political security, order, and social safety are maintained. Foreign affairs activities have been continuous and vibrant, and are a highlight of 2023; to date, Vietnam has established comprehensive strategic partnerships and strategic partnerships with all permanent members of the United Nations Security Council and G20 countries. Vietnam's reputation in the international arena has been enhanced.
To achieve development goals, the National Assembly continues to allow the piloting of a number of specific policies to accelerate progress and create maximum convenience in organizing investment in 21 important national projects and key regional and inter-provincial road projects.

The decisions of this National Assembly, to varying degrees, are closely linked to the overall, strategic interests of the country; taking the legitimate interests of the People as the goal, thereby ensuring security and order at the grassroots level and also protecting human rights. In order for the decisions to come into effect, it is necessary to continue to perfect institutions, mechanisms and policies; enhance the capacity, effectiveness and efficiency of law enforcement; promote administrative reform, especially cutting and simplifying administrative procedures and business conditions. Key projects and works linked to local interests and having a positive impact on the community need to be prioritized for early implementation, especially projects to develop cultural and social security fields in mountainous, border and island areas, as well as to resolve voters' petitions that have been pending for many years.
Continue to promote the work of preventing and combating corruption, negativity, waste, group interests; the disease of shirking responsibility and avoiding responsibility by a number of cadres, civil servants and public employees to strengthen the people's trust in the Party and the socialist rule-of-law State. Strengthen national defense and security potential; ensure political security, social order and safety and synchronously and effectively implement foreign affairs and international integration activities, especially people-to-people diplomacy. Create conditions for people to know, understand, follow, discuss, do, inspect and benefit through communication, propaganda and mobilization work. In addition, it is necessary to promptly implement activities to support policies and improve sustainable livelihoods for people in remote, isolated, border and island areas.
Effectively implementing and ensuring the effectiveness of the National Assembly's decisions at this session will certainly create new effects, positive changes, create consensus in society, unanimity of the people, satisfaction and companionship of domestic and foreign enterprises; creating momentum for the whole country to enter 2024 - a breakthrough year, moving towards completing the 5-year plans according to the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.
