The information was announced by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism on the afternoon of June 12, after 10 days of the 2nd Ho Chi Minh City River Festival in 2024 with many exciting, attractive, unique and interesting activities.

According to initial statistics, during the 10 days of organization with nearly 20 activities within the framework of the event, the total number of Ho Chi Minh City residents and tourists participating and directly interacting in the festival activities reached about 4.5 million.

The highlight of the opening night was the special art program "Storytelling River" season 2 with the theme "Legendary Train", which quickly created a fever on social networks.

The total number of visitors to Ho Chi Minh City from May 31 to June 9 was 1.3 million, including 121,000 international visitors and 1.18 million domestic visitors. Tourism and service revenue reached VND4,250 billion. The average room occupancy rate at accommodation establishments in District 1 increased by 20% compared to normal.

The number of customers of waterway businesses ( food , transportation, etc.) increased by an average of 20% compared to the number of daily customers.

According to reports from travel agencies, the number of visitors during the festival increased by 40-50% compared to normal; many tourist attractions also reported an increase in visitors compared to the same period, including the Ho Chi Minh Museum increasing by 103%, the Cu Chi Tunnels increasing by 423%, the War Remnants Museum increasing by 21%...

This information shows the positive effects that the River Festival brings to the city's service and tourism industry.
