As Lunar New Year approaches, many shops have displayed a variety of Phalaenopsis orchids on central streets in Ha Tinh City such as Ha Huy Tap, Phan Dinh Phung... This year, the establishments have invested in arranging orchids on driftwood with a natural, rustic beauty to attract customers.
Ms. Nguyen Thi To Nga - owner of To Nga flower shop (Ha Tinh city) shared: "In order to meet customer needs, I spent a long time before Tet to research the orchid market and flower trends. This year, I still prioritize rare orchids and new varieties, new colors. Phalaenopsis orchid pots are placed on driftwood, many different shapes attract customers to order. Although it has only been open for sale for more than two weeks, customers have come to ask to buy and place quite a few orders."
At To Nga flower shop, the price of Phalaenopsis orchid pots ranges from 2 million VND to over 100 million VND, depending on the needs of the customer.
Phalaenopsis orchids have plump, green stems, symmetrical round petals, bright colors, symbolizing good feng shui meaning.
Many customers spend the end of the day to enjoy flowers and choose for themselves the most satisfactory vases of Phalaenopsis orchids.
At Hoa Viet shop (Ha Tinh city), groups of workers are diligently arranging and decorating Phalaenopsis orchid pots to serve customers' needs during Tet.
Ms. Truong Thi Thuy Viet - owner of Hoa Viet shop shared that this year's orchid market is divided into 3 main segments: low-end from 3 - 20 million VND/pot; mid-range from 30 - 70 million VND/pot; high-end over 100 million VND/pot, mainly Phalaenopsis orchids placed on driftwood.
There are many types of flowers on the market for buyers to choose from, such as: white, purple, multi-color, yellow, swallow-wing phalaenopsis orchids...; yellow queen orchids, lemon yellow, lemon yellow satto, purple satto, jackfruit yellow, jade green, porcelain green, sword orchids...
Phalaenopsis orchids are known as the “queen of orchids”. This is also the reason why many people choose this flower to display during Tet.
One Flower (Ha Tinh City) is also busy preparing flower pots with “huge” prices to serve customers’ needs. Here, the orchid vases are arranged meticulously, beautifully and uniquely with the highest price of about 100 million VND. Although the price is quite expensive, many customers still order them.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoan - owner of One Flower flower shop said: "This year, customers' demand for Phalaenopsis orchids for Tet is quite early. Therefore, since the beginning of January, we have imported a large number of Phalaenopsis orchids to decorate pots and driftwood. Currently, we are hiring nearly 10 flower arrangers and working from morning until late at night to deliver to customers on time."
Many orchid pots have been sold and delivered to customers' homes.
Demand is high, so at this time, orchid arrangers are overwhelmed with work. This is an opportunity for them to earn extra income to cover the Tet holiday.
