In the first days of the new year 2024, at the construction site of the East-West Road Construction Investment Project (Phase I), the working atmosphere is always bustling and urgent. This is a project that many people in the province are interested in and waiting for, because when the project is completed, it will open up development space for disadvantaged areas. After more than 1 year of construction, the project is being implemented on schedule. The shape of the large inter-regional and inter-provincial connecting road is gradually taking shape.
In recent days, the construction site of the East-West route project through Tam Diep city and Nho Quan district has always been bustling with trucks carrying materials, excavators, rollers, etc. Hundreds of engineers and workers have been mobilized by contractors, divided into many construction teams to urgently implement the project. The first kilometers of the route have been basically completed, asphalted and connected to the first section of the East-West route connecting with the intersection to Mai Son Expressway - National Highway 45.

Looking at the new, spacious road that is about to be put into use, Mr. Nguyen Van Truong, a resident of Quang Son ward, Tam Diep city, excitedly said: "The road passing through the city has a different appearance. This change is not only significant in terms of traffic but also marks the development of the locality. Witnessing the change of our hometown, we are very excited. Hopefully, when the road is completed, it will continue to create momentum for socio-economic development for the young city."
According to comrade Pham Quoc Chinh, Director of the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board: The East-West route investment project with a total length of 23km from Tam Diep (at Dong Giao intersection, Quang Son commune) to Nho Quan (intersection with National Highway 12 in Van Phong commune) with an initial scale of 4 lanes according to the standards of a grade II road (the first section of the route to the intersection of the North-South Expressway with a length of 1.64km is invested with a scale of 8 lanes according to the Tam Diep urban planning) . This is the largest inter-regional traffic connection project ever in Ninh Binh province, of important significance in gradually completing the traffic infrastructure according to the Kim Son - Nho Quan route planning; connecting between expressways, national highways, provincial roads, tourist areas, industrial parks, industrial clusters in Tam Diep city, Nho Quan district and neighboring areas. Create space and land funds to attract investors into local strengths, contributing to socio-economic development and improving people's lives.

Regarding site clearance on the route, to date, localities have handed over 20.2/22.9km of site. Of which, the project scope in Tam Diep city is 6.627km long. To date, 6.627/6.627km has been handed over, however, within the handover scope, there are still 7 households with residential land that have not handed over their houses, architectural assets, and within the handover scope, there are still problems with site clearance at some power line locations.

The scope of the project in Nho Quan district is 16.323km long; the affected land area is 128.65ha. Up to now, 13.64/16.3km of agricultural land has been handed over (reaching about 83.66% of the cleared area), currently there are still problems with residential land, garden land, and some public works.
Regarding construction work, the East-West Road Construction Investment Project in Ninh Binh Province (Phase I) is being constructed by the Joint Venture of Xuan Truong Construction Enterprise and Thanh Trung Company Limited. The project started in March 2022.
Mr. Le Anh Tu, Director of Thanh Trung Company Limited, representing the contractor, said: Currently, the contractor is actively implementing the construction. Taking advantage of the sunny weather, the contractor has focused all machinery, human resources, and materials for construction, the construction atmosphere at the construction site is very bustling, urgent, and highly focused. In addition, the consulting and supervising contractor and the investor are always present at the construction site to supervise the construction quality, techniques, and ensure the set progress.

Currently, the construction unit is implementing the construction of the roadbed on the area of 20,267/22,927km of the handed-over site. The asphalt paving has basically been completed and the first section of the East-West route connecting with the intersection to the Mai Son - National Highway 45 highway has been connected. The contractors are focusing on constructing 70/110 cross-road culverts. The Ma Chanh, Song Van, and Xuan Vien bridges have basically been completed, and the bridge deck and railings are being completed; the Goc Sung 2 bridge has been constructed with 6 bridge girders.

The investor also said: For the roadbed materials, they are determined from 2 sources: coordinated along the route from Ma Chanh Hill at Km7 - Km8 to Km15+520 and purchased from Song Cau mine, in Yen Son commune (Tam Diep city), the mine closest to the Project to serve the fill from Km15+520 to the end of the route, the transportation route is in the direction of National Highway 12B to the construction site with a short transportation distance of only 13-14.5km.

To date, the project implementation value has reached about 35% of the contract. In order to soon put the project into operation and promote the effectiveness of the project, the Investor is coordinating with relevant units to direct the acceleration of progress, striving to put the project into operation in 2025.
