According to statistics, there are currently about 100 private high schools in the city. However, based on the results of the examination of admission conditions and other prescribed conditions, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training decided to assign admission quotas to 85 private schools.
The total enrollment target of these schools is 29,636 students. Of which, Nam Tu Liem district has the most private schools - 12, followed by Ha Dong with 10 schools, Cau Giay 8, Bac Tu Liem 7. These are all densely populated districts of the city.
Students can refer to this enrollment quota table to know which private high schools are allowed to enroll 10th graders for the 2024-2025 school year.
According to preliminary statistics from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the number of 9th grade students in the city participating in the recognition of junior high school graduation in the 2023-2024 school year is about 133,000 students (an increase of 4,000 students compared to the previous school year).
Among junior high school graduates, the percentage of students who passed the 10th grade entrance exam at public schools this year is about 60%. The rest must choose to study at private high schools, vocational education - continuing education centers, vocational education facilities, and colleges.
Thus, the upcoming 10th grade entrance exam for public high schools in Hanoi is expected to have about 81,200 students pass into public schools, while the remaining 51,800 students will fail and have to attend private or vocational schools.
