Phuoc Thanh Primary School held a meeting with parents on the evening of October 27 to inform them about the incident at Phu Huu Primary School and to get their opinions on organizing meals for boarding students.

On the morning of October 28, the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City, announced that up to this point, 5 schools in Thu Duc City have temporarily stopped organizing boarding meals, and the schools are looking for new boarding meal suppliers.

These five schools are Long Thanh My Primary School, Truong Thanh Primary School, Truong Thanh Secondary School, Phuoc Thanh Primary School and Phu Huu Primary School.

"For all schools, the Department of Education and Training requires schools to consult parents, organize parent meetings to fully inform them of the incident at Phu Huu Primary School. Then, consult parents to inform them about the suspension, find a new partner, and ask parents to cooperate with the school to find a new partner," said a representative of the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City.

It is known that all 5 schools above have used boarding meals provided by a company located in Long Thanh My Ward, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City.

On October 26, Phu Huu Primary School stopped organizing boarding meals and is looking for a new meal supplier.

Sharing with reporters on the morning of October 28, Mr. Han (parent's name has been changed), whose child is in grade 3 at Phuoc Thanh Primary School, Thu Duc City, said that he had received a notice from the school. The notice said that the situation related to the boarding meals provided by the company for students has not created peace of mind for parents and to ensure food safety for students, the school has temporarily suspended boarding services from October 30, 2023 (Monday) until further notice.

During this time, Phuoc Thanh Primary School will try to find other meal providers to quickly return boarding activities to normal. Parents of boarding students will pick up their children at 10:30 for grades 1 and 2 and at 11:05 for grades 3, 4 and 5. In the afternoon, students must be at school at 1:45 p.m. to continue their studies.

As reported by Thanh Nien Newspaper, on October 25, the school's inspection team, including representatives of parents from Phu Huu Primary School, went to the company that provides meals for students in the school to inspect. A parent filmed many clips and took pictures of many spoiled, smelly foods stored in the freezer, along with many other foods in this kitchen and reported it to the school's board of directors.

On October 26, Phu Huu Primary School stopped organizing meals for boarding students, terminated the contract with the above meal supplier and is looking for a new meal supplier. Next, until today, October 28, 4 more schools in Thu Duc area are also looking for new meal suppliers.
