The 2023 OCOP and Regional Specialty Products Trade Promotion Fair in Soc Trang took place from November 21 to 27 with the participation of 400 booths from agencies, units, and enterprises from provinces and cities across the country. Of which, there are 100 booths displaying typical and key agricultural products, OCOP products of regions such as: Mekong Delta, Ho Chi Minh City, Southeast, Central Highlands, and Northern provinces.

Soc Trang province also opened the 5th street food festival with the theme "Flavor of Soc Trang". The festival gathered nearly 50 booths displaying, processing and introducing traditional specialties of the province.

Vietnam Record Organization has set the record for the largest painting in Vietnam made from rice, 100% handmade by artisans, with a height of 4m, width of 7m, made from ST25 rice material.

The painting with the theme: "Soc Trang rice plants past and present", reflects the two periods of change from traditional production to the application of science and technology in Vietnam's agriculture in general and the agriculture of Soc Trang province in particular. The entire painting is assembled from 14 pieces (each piece is 1m x 2m), the frame is made of composite.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Minh Ly - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Soc Trang province - said that the record setting of "Vietnam's largest painting" made from ST25 rice aims to honor Soc Trang rice, promote linkages in agricultural economic development, and move towards developing agricultural and rural tourism in the province.

At the same time, through setting the record, the image of Soc Trang rice plants and rice grains will be promoted, contributing to beautifying the tourism brand, creating a premise for Soc Trang tourism industry to gradually develop. Becoming an important spearhead economy of the province in the coming time"

Ms. Huynh Thi Diem Ngoc, Vice Chairwoman of Soc Trang Provincial People's Committee, emphasized: "We want to honor the people of Soc Trang who have researched the ST25 rice variety, which is recognized as the best rice in the world. Through this rice painting, we want to promote ST25 rice to localities across the country and especially countries around the world, hoping that Soc Trang's ST rice will reach larger and wider markets in the world."

The Ngo boat race in Soc Trang province will take place on November 26 and 27, at the Ngo boat race track grandstand in Soc Trang city.

The tournament has 46 boat teams from inside and outside Soc Trang province registered to participate. Of which, there are 6 female boat teams. Soc Trang province alone has 35 male boat teams and 3 female boat teams.
