On the evening of July 14, the authorities of District 10 (HCMC) were still handling and cleaning up the scene of a tree falling and hitting a 7-seat car in the area.
Accordingly, at around 4 p.m. the same day, many districts such as 3, 5, 10... in Ho Chi Minh City experienced heavy rain with strong gusts of wind. At the corner of Ngo Gia Tu - Ba Hat Street (Ward 9, District 10), the heavy rain caused a cajuput tree located there to suddenly break in half and fall from a height of about 20m onto the street.
The tree fell on a 7-seater car that was running on Ngo Gia Tu street. At that time, people living on both sides of the street ran to help, prying open the car door to help the 6 people inside escape. Luckily, no one was injured.

At the scene, the broken tree trunk crushed the car, causing it to be dented and damaged. Due to the incident, a section of Ngo Gia Tu Street was blocked off by authorities to deal with the scene and fix the problem. Tree workers then trimmed some nearby branches of the eucalyptus tree to ensure safety.
Also in the afternoon of the same day, on Hoa Binh Street (District 11) near Hoa Binh Roundabout, a tree branch with a diameter of more than 10cm also broke and fell onto the street. Local authorities were also present to handle the incident and regulate traffic.
