Exchange experiences of Hanoi lotus products with other provinces/cities
On June 19, in Hanoi, the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tay Ho District held a meeting with representatives of press and television agencies to celebrate the 99th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2024); to inform about the socio -economic development results of Tay Ho District in the first 6 months of 2024; to inform about the organization of the Hanoi Lotus Festival and to introduce OCOP products associated with the culture of the northern mountainous provinces in 2024.
The Hanoi Lotus Festival and the introduction of OCOP products associated with the culture of the northern mountainous provinces in 2024 are organized by the People's Committee of Tay Ho district in coordination with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi city, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Union of Friendship Organizations of the city, Hanoi Moi Newspaper, the Department of Culture and Sports, the Department of Tourism, the Department of Information and Communications, the Youth Union - Vietnam Youth Union of the city, the Department of Education and Training, and the Hanoi Department of Health.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of Tay Ho District People's Committee Bui Thi Lan Phuong said that the Hanoi Lotus Festival and the introduction of OCOP products associated with the culture of the northern mountainous provinces in 2024 are organized with the aim of promoting and honoring the beauty and cultural values of Thang Long - Hanoi, of the land of Tay Ho, of lotus - the flower symbolizing the spirit and identity of the Vietnamese soul. The festival will introduce the unique values of the lotus tea brewing profession as well as the unique characteristics of lotus culture in the lives of Vietnamese people.
This is also a trade promotion activity to strengthen the connection, production and consumption, exchange and share experiences of Hanoi lotus products with provinces and cities across the country; at the same time, it is an opportunity to promote and stimulate tourism, arouse the potential for developing OCOP products of localities; attract tourists to visit Hanoi, Tay Ho, contributing to the development of local economy and tourism.
Accordingly, the festival will be held for 5 days, from July 12 to 16, at Tay Ho Cultural and Creative Space (lane 612 Lac Long Quan, Tay Ho, Hanoi).
The opening ceremony will take place at 8:00 p.m. on July 12, with the opening ceremony; honoring the coordinating units, sponsors, and ambassadors participating in the festival; awarding prizes for the photo contest “Beauty, Ao Dai, and Lotus”, and the highlight is the semi-realistic art program “Story of Lotus”.
The event introduces OCOP products associated with the culture of the northern mountainous provinces, with 100 standard booths displaying OCOP products, regional specialties; decorative landscape area; regional cuisine area; especially the area displaying and introducing lotus specialties; the area experiencing lotus products (paintings, photos, lacquerware, fabrics, poems from the past to the present); space to introduce and demonstrate lotus products, lotus silk, lotus tea, lotus sticky rice, lotus rolls, lotus dishes, lotus decorative products, lotus handicrafts; displaying representatives of some lotus varieties from regions across the country and some precious lotus varieties of Vietnam and Hanoi...

This is also the right time to introduce and promote lotus varieties from all over the country and new lotus varieties of Vietnam.
