"Enjoying Tet At Ty" - connecting family with tradition and roots

Welcoming the Year of the Snake 2025, Kim Dong Publishing House launches a special publication "Sip on the Year of the Snake", a collection of 22 poems, prose, and paintings by many authors around the themes of Spring and Tet.

The book leads readers to explore pure stories such as in the work “Is Spring Beautiful?” by May, which gives interesting answers, opening up thoughts about the true beauty of spring. Or “Gift of Spring” by Nguyen Thi Nhu Hien tells the story of Khang’s special Tet when he sat behind his father’s motorbike, carrying a pot of marigolds to give to Mrs. Nam - the sticky rice seller in front of the school gate.

Readers can also enjoy a collection of poems praising the lovely and joyful spring by authors Vu Thi Thanh Tam, Pham Anh Xuan, Truong Thieu Huyen, Hoa NTk, Le Diem... making spring more brilliant and fresh.

The book is filled with love, joy of reunion and family bonding.

In addition, interesting and warm short stories about spring continue to be told in “The Adventure of Finding Warm Sunshine” by Le Chip, “The Rescue Team of Twelve Snakes” by Tran Quoc Toan, “The Mysterious Residents of U Minh Ha Forest” by Doan Mai Anh. The one-shot comic “Rescue the Carp” by artist LinhRab is a light-hearted, witty joy that brings laughter to the first days of the new year.

From the small garden corner with “Five-color Chung Cake”, the way to celebrate Tet in the North and the South in “The Dice Family”, discovering the cuisine of Nghe An’s Tet with the fragrant cakes, or watching the dances and listening to the songs of the Kate Tet of the Cham people in “The season of Tagalau flowers returning to palei to celebrate Tet”, the countryside of Ha Tinh appearing through “The melody of the homeland’s charm”, and the new year far away when “Welcoming Tet in the land of a thousand lakes”. Each story brings diverse and rich perspectives on Tet.

The year of At Ty cannot be without pages written about snakes - the symbolic animal of the year. Snakes in Vietnamese culture and beliefs appear through the articles "The Vietnamese Snake God", "Le Mat Village and the Giao Long Dance", the story "Cao Ba Quat - a famous person born in the year of the snake"...

2025 marks the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification, the North and South reunited. In the book, writer Truong Quy tells readers about the history of the meaningful song "S-shaped song" by musician Nguyen Xuan Khoat. "S-shaped song" was written in 1956, expressing the wish for national reunification in a regular learning activity. That is the first lesson about the shape of the country as a continuous stroke of the pen.
