On the morning of March 29, Ton Duc Thang Museum held a meeting to commemorate the 44th anniversary of the death of President Ton Duc Thang (March 30, 1980 - March 30, 2024) at the museum.
A shining example for future generations
This is one of the important activities and is organized annually by Ton Duc Thang Museum.
This activity demonstrates the tradition of remembering the source of water, expressing gratitude for the great contributions of President Ton Duc Thang who devoted his entire life to the revolutionary cause of national liberation and country building.
Mr. Pham Thanh Nam - Director of Ton Duc Thang Museum - reviewed the life and career of President Ton Duc Thang - a staunch communist, exemplary leader, an excellent son of his hometown An Giang, a loyal soldier of the international communist and workers' movement.

Donating a song composed about Uncle Ton to Ton Duc Thang Museum
At the memorial meeting this morning, Ton Duc Thang Museum received documents from National Archives Center II.
In particular, musician Nguyen Van Hien - former vice president of the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association - presented a song about Uncle Ton called The Eagle was composed by him.
Musician Nguyen Van Hien said he composed this song in 2018 during a visit to President Ton Duc Thang's Memorial Site in Ong Ho Islet (An Giang Province).

During the discussion, the director of the President Ton Duc Thang Memorial Site at that time said that there were many songs written about Uncle Ton, but there was a topic that no one wrote about, which was the plane that carried Uncle Ton that was displayed in the memorial site.
"Thinking no one would write it, I wrote the song Eagle Wings inspired by this meaningful keepsake.
"I wrote and completed this song in just 3 days," musician Nguyen Van Hien told Tuoi Tre Online.
Up to this point, the musician has recorded and made a music video to send to Ton Duc Thang Museum for full use without copyright.
In the near future, he will donate to the management board of President Ton Duc Thang Memorial Site.

On this occasion, the Ton Duc Thang Museum awarded prizes to an online contest to learn about the life and revolutionary career of President Ton Duc Thang organized by the museum.
The organizing committee decided to award prizes to 5 individuals out of more than 27,000 participants in the contest. Among them, Mr. Tran Le Anh Huy - Secretary of the Youth Union of Ton Duc Thang University (HCMC), won first prize.

Previously, Mr. Duong Anh Duc - Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, along with leaders of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, Ton Duc Thang Museum offered flowers and incense at the memorial room of President Ton Duc Thang at Ho Chi Minh Museum - Ho Chi Minh City branch.
Mr. Pham Thanh Nam - Director of Ton Duc Thang Museum - said that the Ton Duc Thang Museum is currently under construction and entering the completion stage.
He hopes to continue receiving documents and artifacts donated by organizations and individuals to add to the propaganda collections about Uncle Ton's life and revolutionary career.
